As Asian Heritage Month comes to a close we are thrilled to say that an important part of the heritage of Filipino Canadians was recognized.

At this screening in Toronto we were happy to hear from audience members that they had no idea about the history presented in the documentary until seeing INAY. It felt like more people were becoming aware of the struggles our parents went through to settle in Canada and that the film was succeeding in sharing our experiences.

Thank you to the @pwc_ontario and @ukpcon for screening INAY at this historic venue. It was so great to meet so many supportive people and make new connections.

May 24, 2025.- The “Inay (Mama)” film screening held at the Revue Cinema. It was a privilege to have the filmmakers Thea and Jeremiah take part in this and allow us further insight and conversation on the topics of migration, systemized family separation, mental health/support and healing.

It was clear that these are tough topics for our community to grapple with but audience engagement showed openness to share and find ways to move forward from isolated experiences to collective healing—a start of many conversations to come.
