BRAND NEW UK RECORD! A massive congratulations to the entire @ukvertical team for their fantastic achievement! On Monday 31st August at @skydivelangar , 39 UK skydivers broke a vertical formation record that had stood for over a decade, organised and led by the phenomenal team of @mafull , @martinjroberson , @danguest1 , @greglucas1 and @esharp.22 This formation required 39 skydivers to exit from three separate aircraft at 14,500ft, with just 38 seconds in freefall to build a complete formation, while flying upside down and travelling at speeds of over 180mph. An unbelievably fortunate break in the clouds gave them their window, and on their 6th attempt the complete formation built successfully, just 1 second before reaching break off altitude! Everyone on this record has dedicated years to developing the skills required, as well as months of attending warm up camps building directly towards this attempt. It’s an insanely impressive feat of teamwork, technical flying skill and persistence, and we are so proud to have been able to support them along the way. It’s been amazing to watch the team work towards this all year, and to see it all come together on Monday’s record. The determination and positive energy they’ve brought to the DZ has been great, and everybody here is thrilled to see them achieve their goal. Absolutely incredible work, everybody! 🚀 Video credit- @sebastiaanhcmulder #ukrecord #skydiving #multiplane #hd#headdown taken in Skydive Langar by @ukvertical

31.08.2026 | 39-way UK Head-Down Record It’s official! We had all the odds stacked against us this weekend: - Challenging weather - A bunch of illnesses - No Twin Otter (stuck in France due to weather) - Altitude restrictions But we managed 6 attempts… and we did it 🎉 Massive thank you to @skydivelangar for their incredible support throughout the year, always accommodating our needs and allowing us to run events in the UK at very reasonable prices. And to pilots @j0be_1 , @gilmore_ben , @gdtho.mas , and Dave for their consistent, tight formation flying. Thanks to the UK Vertical organisers who have put a bunch of time into all of this, running a camp a month from March to build up the team and engineering the record formation to build from 3 caravans from ~14,500ft: @mafull @greglucas1 @martinjroberson @esharp.22 , and in particular @danguest1 who dropped out of the formation today to fly camera. To @alexthepotter55 from @caelumsystems for providing SkyTraX units for all flyers so we could nerd out on data visualisations and ultimately improve build efficiency and break-off safety. To @chantalalice_ for judging the record and making it official after a long weekend at FS nationals. And thank you to all the participants, turning up on day 1 with an appalling weather forecast and persisting through the 3 days with great attitudes and safe flying. Everyone’s put in a lot of work and progression this year, and it’s paid off 🎉 UK vertical flying is back in business. 📸 @danguest1 taken in Skydive Langar by @ukvertical

On this day last year we were at @pinkskyvan Klatovy training for the HD world record. We only managed 3 jumps during the camp due to weather, but they all looked similarly promising to this! Empuria earlier in the year was similar with just 4 multi-plane loads, so the Euro contingent only really got 7 proper training jumps in advance of Chicago 😬 UK prep for next year’s Euro record is already going strong with 2/3 successful @ukvertical camps so far and formations building well 👌 Flying my @vertexskysports Flex suit for this one for all the range. 📸 @ewan_cowie_photography taken in Skydive Pink Klatovy by @ukvertical

A bit of impromptu formation chasing. Thanks to @ukvertical for allowing me to tag along. Their first training weekend for a new UK head down record was impressive - I have good feelings about their chances! @cookiehelmets @uptvector taken in Skydive Langar by @ukvertical
