Exactly a year ago, my dear climbing family, @mountainseedfoundation launched their healing program in Ukraine. They reached out asking for behind the scenes, and I ended up shooting a documentary instead.
For me, it felt like the most honest way to give something back to these incredible people who supporting Ukrainian families affected by russian aggression.

So here it is. CLIMB TO HEAL. Link in bio.

The industry is shaking and terrified of “AI,” and this is why we decided to take on a challenge and use it not to make an “AI film,” but to make just a film.

With actors, crews, sets, and equipment, while utilizing all the benefits these tools offer. Push the production value, extend the world, and explore new languages and styles.

White Deer is a proof of concept for hybrid production, a benchmark for what can be done, and a bible for how.

Small indie budget, minimal crew, a clear vision, and a true love for cinema.

Talents on screen were filmed for real. Faces, bodies, and performances are all practical, shot in a studio. The world around them was shaped through AI, using imagery from our own archive captured on Madeira island.

Nothing here was generated from thin air.
Every image started with something physical, observed and captured by us first.

We used AI the same way filmmaking has always used tools: to extend reality, build impossible worlds, and push images further without compromising on human presence or cinematic language.

The grounding is always real.
The fantasy is built on top.

White Deer is a story I’ve probably heard from @jovardi more times than anyone should have to. A feature film, written and rewritten, waiting for the right moment for years.

When @artlist.io offered to support a project, we knew a feature wasn’t on the table. But it was enough to start, so John trusted our @artropods.film with it and we went for it.

One scene. Hybrid approach. Proof of concept.

It exists now. Not as a feature. Not yet. But as a small piece of something that deserves to become one.

Last May we opened Healing Base Camp in western Ukraine and had the whole week documented on film. What the crew captured inside that program is illuminating and will give you a new understanding of the why and how of our program.
