A question I am asked all the time as a travel photographer is “don’t you get nervous approaching strangers to take their photo” my response always is “I love meeting new people”!!! And in this reel… I think you can see just how much those sentiments are true 🤣❤️ !!

A year of travel as a travel photographer 🙏
Forever thankful for this life, this vessel, this beautiful world and the fact that photographing things is how I get to spend my time ✨

This year has already taken me to India, Spain and various spots in the U.K. and I can not wait to see what the rest of this magical year brings.

On many assignments, you don’t always get much time with your subject to bring the brief to life. I like to spend a little of that time talking first… getting to know the person, seeing how they move, finding the small moments that might make them smile. There’s something special about watching an artist, a maker, a craftsperson at work. Mujeeb was an absolute joy to photograph ✨🙏

This is your reminder to keep making things for yourself!

I love my work as a travel, portrait and lifestyle photographer, moving through places, meeting people, translating moments into images. But just as important is the work I make when no one is asking for it. The quieter practice. The personal pull. The images that don’t answer to anything but curiosity.

Working with artists and being surrounded by other people’s creativity feeds something essential in me, it reminds me why I started in the first place. Why I became an image maker. Why I still feel pulled to create. And it’s no surprise to me that all of these images were taken on analogue film.

My relationship with photography began in the darkroom, and I still return to analogue processes now because they ask something different of me. Slower. More intentional. A kind of trust in the unknown. No instant review. No AI shaping the outcome. Just light, time, and anticipation.
the magic is in the waiting. in not fully knowing. in the excitement of what will appear once the film is developed, once the images finally reveal themselves.
It keeps me close to my roots. It keeps me honest. It keeps the work alive. It keeps the magic of photography alive.

Introducing Max our absolutely wonderful and simply gorgeous Tuktuk driver during three days in Jaipur! When I asked if I could take his photo on our final day together he was well up for a little photoshoot 🕺, bringing all the poses and beautiful energy! What a delight he is.

I’m opening up a small number of pay-what-you-can portrait and lifestyle shoots, an exciting way to creatively move into Spring, before my busier season begins.

These shoots are for artists, musicians, makers, chefs, small businesses, movement practitioners (dancers, yoga and pilates instructors)…or anyone drawn to being photographed right now.

Perhaps a full photoshoot hasn’t felt accessible before. Perhaps you’d love a portrait of yourself, simply because… or to mark a new chapter, a transition, or something worth remembering. You’re also welcome to pay it forward and gift a shoot to someone else. My favourite part of this work is connecting with people and telling their stories. These shoots give me the chance to do more of that, while also making a little bit of money during this quieter period in my year.

I’m based in Sussex and would love to prioritise local shoots as part of connecting more deeply with my community. I’m also happy to travel further afield… travel costs can be shared. So don’t let that stop you reaching out :)

While travelling through Pushkar, Rajasthan last year, I stumbled upon a midnight wedding parade winding through the streets of this sacred pilgrimage town. The groom, draped in jewels and rich fabrics, rode a white horse, while the bride, elegantly dressed, danced and walked joyfully beside her family and friends in a vibrant celebration. The scene was illuminated by men and women holding umbrellas adorned with lightbulbs, their glow lighting up the entire procession. At the rear, a blue tuk-tuk, connected to thick cables, powered an enormous generator that fuelled the lights and music, its constant hum blending into the lively rhythm of the event. Intrigued by the two people sitting in the tuk-tuk’s front seat, I caught the eye of the lady who waved me over. As I approached I hand gestured as to whether I might take her photo and she smiled, opened her window and I captured this photo. One of my favourite portraits of the trip.

And now fast forward a year and I cannot quite believe I shall be back in this beautiful place in just a couple of days time.

Moments of 2025 Part III

The final stretch of the year kicked off with an exciting campaign in the Yorkshire Moors with @thegateplus_ for @lovegreatbritain and before I knew it, I was hopping on multiple trains heading north. Alongside an amazing team, I spent the days scaling walls (see slide 2 😂), hugging trees, climbing countless hills and getting caught in the rain more times than I can count… all in pursuit of the perfect shot. The shoot wrapped up in the quaintest seaside town, sheltering from the rain with a cup of tea in hand.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I received the surreal news that my work was being displayed on billboards across Australia… a moment that absolutely called for celebrating with friends before heading off again, this time to Naples, Italy 🇮🇹 for another portrait shoot.

Next stop was London, photographing the incredible @alokvmenon during the London leg of their tour. From there, it was onto a video shoot for @unplugged.rest on the border of Wales and England, followed by a few sunshine-filled days in Marrakesh with my beauty @hayah_handpokes.

The year wrapped up exactly how I’d hoped… time with family, making many pots at my pottery studio @neighbourhood.pottery, a week in Spain eating all the tapas and dancing salsa, and finishing with Christmas in Venice.
What a year!!
