Ullork Client Advisory | Fairfax County, VA

At Ullork, we work closely with clients throughout Northern Virginia, and we believe that staying informed locally helps everyone plan better for the future.

We wanted to share an upcoming update that will affect food and beverage businesses operating in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Beginning January 1, 2026, Fairfax County will implement a 4% Food & Beverage (Meals) Tax, added to the existing 6% sales tax (approximately 10% total on prepared meals). Restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, food trucks, and similar establishments in the county will be required to collect and remit this tax.

We’re passing this along simply as a courtesy so our clients in the area—and their accounting teams—have clear, early visibility and time to prepare.

Our focus remains on delivering long-term value by paying attention to what’s happening right here, where we build, design, and support our clients every day.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season.
