TEAM ULMAN CONQUERED MOUNT KILIMANJARO!!! 🏔️🔥

After months of training, fundraising, pushing through exhaustion, and taking one step at a time, our incredible team of 13 trekkers took on Mount Kilimanjaro. What made this team so special was the people behind every step. Some were climbing while currently navigating cancer themselves, others had faced cancer and come out the other side, and others were there for someone they love. Each person brought their own story to this mountain, and together, they showed what it means to be there for one another.

They showed up for each other, carried each other through the tough moments, and reminded us what it looks like to turn community into REAL action. Signing up to trek 19,000 feet was never just about reaching the summit. It was about every person they were climbing for, every life touched by cancer, and every step taken to make sure no one has to face it alone. 💙

To our trekkers, their families, everyone who donated, and everyone who cheered this team on: WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU. You took on one hell of a mountain, and the impact of this journey reaches so much farther than the summit.

A HUGE shoutout to @embark.exploration.co for guiding Team Ulman every step of the way, keeping our trekkers safe, bringing the fun, and helping make this experience one our team will never forget! We are so grateful for your expertise, energy, and for being part of this journey with us.

And now we’re asking... WHO’S READY TO CLIMB WITH US NEXT YEAR?! 👀⛰️ If you’re interested in taking on Mount Kilimanjaro and making an impact for young adults impacted by cancer, email kaitlyn@ulmanfoundation.org to learn more. Your next life changing moment is waiting. 💫 by @ulmanduke

A peek at the peak 🌄

It's mind blowing the know I'll be summiting the highest peak in Africa tomorrow night. It would be incredible to hit my fundraising goal of $10,000 by that time -- I'm only $1045 away!

Every dollar helps and goes directly towards programs and resources for young adults and their families facing cancer, who are climbing mountains they didn't choose, proving them with transportation, fertility preservation, financial assistance, insurance navigation, free housing for those traveling to Baltimore for treatment, mental health support, and more!

Sleepy eyes, full heart -- can't lose.

Belated day 2 update from Kilimanjaro. First morning waking up at camp and feeling gratitude so deeply, I can't quite put it to words, but perhaps this view can do the feelings justice. by @ulmanduke

Kilimanjaro: Day 1ish!⛰️

The acclimating is done, the team has assembled, some sights have been seen, some smells have been smelled, and today our @ulmanfoundation trek team officially head for the trail.

Naturally, we already have a plot twist. The original route is closed because of wildfires. There is also rain. Adele has been notified.

So we're starting instead on a shorter, more difficult route, because apparently simply climbing Kilimanjaro wasn’t enough.

I've entrusted my remarkably talented, smart, beautiful, kind, and hilarious sister @chelboen with the Instagram password while I'm on the mountain, so she'll share updates when I get them to her, and I trust her to make very professional, polished reels & updates for you all to follow along and keep you updated, while I focus on the whole "climbing the highest peak in Africa" thing.

I'm about $2,000 shy of my fundraising goal for Ulman Foundation, so if you’d like to join the adventure from somewhere considerably closer to sea level, donate or share along the way! See the link in my bio to support!

Here we go. 🏔️ by @ulmanduke

Follow me along as I and my fellow Ulman trekkers climb the biggest mountain in Africa to support the Ulman Foundation and their mission to make sure no one with cancer has to climb their mountain alone. by @ulmanduke
