There’s an old quote by photographer Ted Grant which I love so much: “When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes; but when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls.”

The same applies to flowers. Without color to rely on, you can’t fake a photograph, and you can’t fake an arrangement. So for this shoot, we had to lean entirely on floral form, lighting, contrast, and some Bob Dylan tunes.

This is why I love shooting B&W film so much… or maybe it’s just because I’m colorblind… either way, everything looks better through the lens of a Linhof! Oh, and these are all real flowers… so the studio smelled positively ambrosial! taken in David Teran Photography by @ultravioletbackdrops
