You can never starting thinking about the next holiday; right? Well, while we honestly are ready for just the one coming up, that doesn’t mean we think of how we might do a project related to a future event. Here in our junior level graphic design class students learn about how type used to be set by hand and printed by making custom Valentine’s Day cards to sell in the spring semester. We can’t wait until you get to see all the great solutions they have come up with. Be sure to look out for them in Fletcher Hall or around Rex Street next semester!

Help us get the word out! No matter if you are a current student or alumni, help us reach out to other schools and students who may be interested in studying the visual arts in college by sharing or tagging them in this post. Preview Day is coming up on Saturday, October 24 and we would love to show everyone around our classrooms and tell them more about our program. #bfa #artstudents #futureartist #artschool

Learning how to make composition work is challenging; it’s a good thing we make it exciting! Understanding how one can arrange elements in space to create an interesting arrangement takes lot of practice and studying, and learning those skills early on will help you no matter what concentration you choose. #ArtSchool #FutureArtist #WIP #artportfolio #bfa by @ulvisualarts

Using cardboard is a relatively inexpensive way to learn about working with the three dimensional form. Don’t let this fool you though; soon our students will be welding and using chop saws and molds, as they learn all kinds of sculptural techniques.

There are a lot of things you can do with a visual arts degree. Creative problem solving is a highly desirable skill that students learn in all our concentrations. Printmaking is just one of those areas, and our program builds a well rounded experience preparing our students for the world of tomorrow. #ArtSchool #FutureArtist #WIP #Printmaking #ArtStudent by @ulvisualarts
