Sometimes, the moment you’re celebrating today is the result of a decision you made years ago.

It’s been a while since I shared some of the moments and activities that have shaped my journey over the years. I’ve been learning, creating, serving, meeting people, taking opportunities, and growing quietly.

Last month, at the SRC Official Handing Over 2026, I had one of those moments that made me pause and reflect.

I was honoured with the Creative Impact Award — Best Graphic Designer of the Year, presented by the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere.

But as I held that recognition, my mind went back to 2014. Back to when I was just learning graphic design, No awards, No recognition, No idea where the journey would lead. Just a young boy with curiosity, a willingness to learn, and someone who was patient enough to teach me.

That person deserves a part of this moment.
I dedicate this award to the person who trained me in graphic design from 2014. You may have taught me the craft, but you also helped plant a seed that continued to go after the lessons ended.

Today, that seed has produced something I’m proud of. Oga Bash thank you for seeing potential in me before I could fully see it in myself. May Almighty Allah continue to bless you, increase you in wisdom and favour, reward you abundantly for every life you have impacted, and grant you many more years in good health and strength to keep inspiring others.

This award carries a part of your story too. This one is for you.

Alhamdulillah for the journey.

Before the recognition came the encouragement. Before the applause came the belief.

Being recognized among the 20 Most Impactful Individuals in the Federal University of Kashere (FUK) is a moment of profound gratitude and reflection. Beyond the honor, my thoughts return to the man who believed in me long before this recognition became possible, the man who saw tomorrow in me long before I could see it myself.

I proudly dedicate this award to my boss, my brother, and an exceptional leader, @jameel_mato whose unwavering guidance, trust, and encouragement have shaped my journey and inspired me to pursue purposeful leadership and selfless service.

Sir, thank you for investing in people, believing in dreams, and raising leaders. May Allah (SWT) preserve you, multiply your rewards, make your legacy a source of continuous blessings (Sadaqah Jariyah), and grant you Al-Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
