At our Fall Open House, potential students got the chance to speak with Assistant Director of Admissions Brett Weinstein; hear an overview of our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program from Dr. Kelby Kaplan, PT, DPT, EdD, Assistant Professor; get a tour of campus from current students; see lab demonstrations from Dr. Sarah Smith, PT, DPT, Assistant Professor, Dr. Alisa Pravdo, PT, DPT, and Dr. Kaplan; and get all of their questions answered by a panel of students and faculty members!

Are you considering applying to our DPT program? There is just ONE MONTH left to submit your application.

Fill out your application on PTCAS and add University of Maryland, Baltimore to your program list before November 1, 2026 to be considered for our incoming cohort!

Brett Weinstein, Assistant Director of Admissions, recently welcomed his newest cohort of first and second-year students to the Student Ambassador Committee!

Student ambassadors are dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for prospective students. You will see them at admissions events, such as our September 26 Open House, sharing insights on their experiences in the DPT program. They also offer more prospective to potential students through campus tours and shadowing experiences.

This year's cohort includes first-year students Sidney Tucci, Larissa Gogots, Katie Gray, Kat Jackson, Peyton Lubinsky, Gabbie McCafferty, Kelsey Melancon, Krisha Patel, Bailey Pruitt, David Romero, Marissa Ross, Rayven Short, Anna Simpson, Kai Smith, Stephanie Tran, Rachael Vander Roest, Waverly Wheeler, and Anna Zurlo.

This year's cohort also includes second-year students Hailey Ciufo, Angie Burke, Aya Neal, Claire Henige, Connor Culp, Ebube Ohams, Isa Garcia, Leah Marcus, Matthew Link, Melanie McNamara, Sarah Bennett, and Tyanna Stephenson.

This Tuesday, the Class of 2027 hosted a Stress Buster Event featuring line dancing!🤠🎶Students from the Classes of 2027 and 2028, along with faculty, learned the dances to Good Time, Jumpin’, and Footloose, taught by Patryk Bieganowski. It was a great opportunity to unwind, have fun, and bring our DPT community together! by @umb_dpt

The Class of 2026 December is off to their clinical rotations!

Last week, our third-year students completed the didactic portion of their DPT program. We are so excited to see our students take the next step towards becoming physical therapists at their full-time clinical experiences!

The Class of 2026 and 2027 hosted a pickleball tournament for the entire UMSOM PTRS community last week!

Many students came in matching outfits or costumes to compete through the bracket style tournament.

Congratulations to Reuven Santos and Jamie Fong who won the championship match against Ebube Ohams and Ryan Barthlow!

This week we welcomed UMSOM PTRS' 70th class with the Class of 2028 orientation!

Led by Director of Student Services Michael Patterson, orientation gave our newest students the chance to hear from Department Chair Dr. Victoria Marchese, various other staff and faculty members, receive essential learning tools, and get to know their classmates through plenty of activities.

We are thrilled to have the Class of 2028 starting their journey through our DPT program!
