We are pleased to share that our Counsel, Valeryan Natasha, has been named to Asian Legal Business (ALB) Asia 40 Under 40 2026, recognising accomplished young lawyers across the region who are making their mark on the legal profession.

Selected from more than 400 nominations across Asia, this year’s list reflects not only the work these lawyers have accomplished so far, but also the trust they have earned from clients and colleagues and the promise of what lies ahead.

At 31, Valeryan is also the youngest lawyer recognised on this year’s list, making this milestone all the more special.

Valeryan has already built a diverse practice spanning infrastructure, M&A, corporate transactions, and other strategic matters, working alongside clients on projects and transactions that often sit at the intersection of law, business, and public interest.

What makes this recognition particularly meaningful to us is the journey behind it: years of steady work, curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to keep growing with every matter.

We are very happy to see that journey recognised beyond UMBRA, and even more excited to see where it takes him next.

Congratulations, Valeryan, on being named among ALB Asia 40 Under 40 2026. Very well deserved.

We are proud to share that UMBRA recently participated in the “PPA Solutions for Energy Security and Transition” roundtable session at the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-26), held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The session was organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), the Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and Agora Energiewende.

Joining a select group of representatives from ASEAN governments, financial institutions, utilities, and regional energy bodies, we contributed our expertise to critical discussions on the region’s energy future.

Focusing on emerging solutions, negotiation approaches, and regulatory best practices, we shared insights on the policies and regulations needed to enable the successful restructuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Our team outlined strategic contractual, policy, and regulatory solutions, and addressed the support and resources governments and utilities need to navigate PPA restructuring options effectively.

It is an honour for UMBRA to take part in these high-level regional dialogues, contributing our legal expertise to help shape a resilient and sustainable energy transition across ASEAN.

We are honoured to share our Senior Partner, Kirana Sastrawijaya @missqireyna moderated the “In Power Woman: Advancing Capability and Leadership for ASEAN’s Renewable Future” panel discussion at MKI Electricity Connect 2026.

As ASEAN accelerates its renewable energy ambitions, the demand for project developers, financiers, and operational leaders is growing rapidly. This session highlighted the critical need to address skills shortages by building a stronger, more inclusive pipeline of women across the renewable energy value chain, exploring actionable strategies for recruitment, technical training, and leadership readiness.

Beyond capacity building, the panel also tackled the core commercial and regulatory drivers shaping ASEAN’s energy transition. The discussion provided strategic insights on strengthening project bankability, mobilizing capital for grid infrastructure, and executing cross-border power projects through enhanced regional cooperation.

A sincere thank you to MKI Electricity Connect 2026 @mkiofficial_ for inviting UMBRA to facilitate an inspiring and collaborative session. Empowering diverse leadership is essential to solving the complex challenges of our energy future.

We’re proud to share our contribution to the Chambers Global Practice Guide: Renewable Energy 2026, where we authored the Indonesia chapter for the Trends & Developments section.

Senior Partner Kirana Sastrawijaya, Counsel Angela Vania Rustandi, Senior Associate Amelia Rohana Sonang, and Senior Associate Yorda Lazuardi reflect on how regulatory reforms and commercial shifts are shaping the renewable energy landscape in Indonesia, along with the nation’s accelerating energy transition roadmap.

As the government pushes for greater renewable-based energy independence, our chapter unpacks the most critical developments in the market. We discuss the ambitious 100 GW Solar Programme and the new “GIGA ONE” procurement model, the upcoming revisions to the renewable electricity pricing framework (PR 112/2022), and the expansive new role of BPI Danantara in energy infrastructure. Additionally, we explore emerging frameworks for EV charging, hybrid power plants, and the latest classifications for the clean-energy economy under KBLI 2025.

We are honoured to be a Global Practice Guide Contributor Renewable Energy 2026 and hope our insights offer practical value to developers, investors, and industry participants navigating these new opportunities in the Indonesian market.
