I’ve been on a natural hair journey for the last 7 years now. There have been tons of up and downs as I transitioned and decided that the curly way of life was for me. I initially transitioned because I was tired of the time, cost and frequency required to keep up with the creamy crack life style (jokes on me because my hair care budget has absolutely increased lol). After beginning my relationship with kiddie relaxer and eventually moving up to regular and full strength products I always wondered what my natural curls/hair would look like.

Fast forward to today and after years of trail and error, I found @thetextureologist who has completely changed the game for me. Not only is she thorough, she’s professional and an all around sweet soul. She gave me my first real curly cut about 3 years ago and although so far I’ve only seen her about once a year - EVERYTIME I leave her chair I feel lighter, confident and happy with her work.

Here are the photos from my most recent appointment with her (although the finished look consisted of a blow out, my hair was cut so that once curly I would have a shape that will allow my curls to shine) - 🙏🏾🤗

Liam turned 4 today! I’m in awe of how quickly time has passed. Here he is now opinionated, considerate, creative, helpful and fiercely independent. I am infinitely proud of this human and forever grateful I get to be his mom. The world is beyond blessed to have him in it.
