A Journey of Passion and Perseverance ✨

Meet Abdelhadi Ouaziz , a former Um Mami trainee from Team 13, whose journey reflects dedication, ambition, and a passion for the culinary arts.

After beginning his culinary education at CFA TUI Academy Morocco by Club Robinson Hotel, Abdelhadi joined Um Mami, where he strengthened his skills, gained hands-on experience, and continued developing his passion for gastronomy.

His professional journey led him to Hotel Tafoukt in Agadir (@tafouk.officiel), before taking the next step in his career at Club Robinson Agadir (@robinsonclub).

Today, Abdelhadi continues to grow professionally, guided by consistency, humility, and a desire to keep learning. For him, cooking is more than a profession; it is a lifelong journey of craftsmanship, culture, and self-improvement.

His ambition is to master the art of gastronomy while proudly representing Moroccan culinary talent on the international stage.

Stories like Abdelhadi’s reflect Um Mami’s mission to empower young Moroccan talent through culinary training and professional opportunities, made possible with the support of the @meltingpotfoundation , the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (@dappdk )the Embassy of Denmark in Morocco (@denmarkinmorocco ) and @planbornefonden. ✨ by @ummami_training

Today, on World Food Day, we celebrate more than food. We celebrate its power to nourish, connect, and create opportunities.

Around the world, millions of people still face hunger, reminding us of the importance of building more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable food systems.

At Um Mami, we believe that food can also be a powerful tool for social inclusion, education, and empowerment.

Through our culinary training programmes, we equip young people with professional skills, build their confidence, and open pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. Through our workshops, dining experiences, and collaborations with local cooperatives and producers, we promote sustainable food practices, celebrate Morocco’s rich culinary heritage, and strengthen connections within our communities.

Founded by the Danish organisation @meltingpotfoundation and rooted in Morocco, Um Mami brings together culinary traditions, education, and social impact, working alongside chefs, farmers, cooperatives, artisans, and young people to create meaningful opportunities through food.

This journey is made possible thanks to the support of @meltingpotfoundation , the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (@dappdk ), the Embassy of Denmark in Morocco (@denmarkinmorocco ), and @planbornefonden .

On this World Food Day, we celebrate everyone contributing to a future where food is not only a source of nourishment, but also a source of knowledge, dignity, and opportunity.

Because we believe that every skill learned, every tradition preserved, and every opportunity created can make a difference.

Food can nourish. Food can connect. Food can build futures.

Happy World Food Day!

Colourful, versatile and full of flavour 🌶️

From fresh and crisp to roasted, grilled or blended into sauces, peppers can completely transform a dish.

Sweet, smoky or spicy, each variety brings its own character to the kitchen, and plenty of colour to the plate.

Hajar El youfi
From IT and Programming Specialist to Chef and Entrepreneur

After studying programming and information technology and spending seven years in the administrative sector, Hajar decided to change direction and follow her passion for cooking.

She started her project from home with no professional experience, mentorship, or proper equipment — only creativity, determination, and a desire to create original, visually appealing pastries with strong nutritional value.

After five years of building her project, Hajar discovered Um Mami by @meltingpotfoundation and joined the second cohort of the Um Mami Food Business Accelerator.

The programme became a turning point for @fekassandmore , helping her transform a modest home-based activity into a structured business with a clear vision and new opportunities for growth, funding, and professional support.

For Hajar, cooking is more than a profession , it is a way to express passion, share with others, and bring people together.
