Congratulations to the Women's Law Student Association @wlsa.minnesotalaw for holding its third annual 5k fun run in support of StandpointMN, an organization that provides domestic violence resources and advocacy throughout the Twin Cities last week! This year, more than 175 students, community members, and alumni gathered to participate in the event and raised almost $4000 for the cause. In addition to Standpoint, the AluMNae Network and the Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education were present to meet attendees and discuss their organizations. This year's event had record-setting attendance, and WLSA is looking forward to continuing to grow the event in the years to come! two students getting ready to cross the finish line by @umnlaw

Join Professor Barbara Welke, Distinguished McKnight University Professor, for a conversation about her latest book, Writing with Fire: The Cowboy Suit Tragedy and the Course of a Life.

Blending legal and cultural history with personal reflection, Welke explores the devastating cowboy suit tragedy of the 1940s and ’50s, the families affected, and the legal battles that followed.

Drawing on archival research, oral histories, and personal letters, Writing with Fire examines how law, memory, trauma, and identity shape the stories we tell about the past—and ourselves.

Professor Jill Hasday, Distinguished McKnight University Professor and Centennial Professor in Law, will moderate the conversation.
