4th Grade, here he comes 📚💙

Watching Tez walk into 4th grade this year hits different. My baby isn’t a baby anymore. I’m looking at a young man in the making and my heart is so full.

I know he’s going to do terrific this year. He’s smart, he’s got heart, and he’s got a whole village behind him. I’m beyond proud of the young man he’s becoming — respectful, funny, determined, and growing into himself more every day.

And I’m blessed. Blessed that his daddy and his stepmom May May are in his corner too. We might not have always had it perfect, but when it comes to Tez, we step up. Every morning. Every school event. Every hard day and every win. That’s what co-parenting with love looks like, and I thank God for it.

Tez, keep being YOU. Keep leading with kindness, keep asking questions, keep working hard. You’re destined for great things and we’re all right here cheering you on.

Day 6 of 1st Grade & my boy is THRIVING 📚💙

I REALLY have a 1st grader and I’m not even sad about it. I knew Tariq was built for this.

My man loves school. He jumped out the car this morning already planning his whole day — “Mom, I’m gonna finish my work fast so I can read during centers.” WHO IS THIS KID?! 😂

Six days in and he’s walking in like he’s the mayor of 1st grade. New classroom, new teacher, same Tariq: smart, helpful, cracking jokes, and ready to learn.

No tears from me this year. Just pure pride watching him do what he loves. He counted down all summer for this.

Keep being great, son. 1st grade ain’t ready for you.

PK2 already?! 😭💙

I was NOT ready today. Thought A’Zure was gonna cry and cling to me and her daddy… but my 2-year-old gave us a hug and kiss, said “bye,” and walked into her classroom like a big girl. Didn’t even look back.

I’m the one in the car dropping tears. Her daddy? Cheesing: “that’s my big girl.”

Lord, slow down. One minute I’m rocking her, the next she’s running off to school like she’s got business to handle.

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you, babygirl . Go shine. We’ll be right here waiting to hear all about it.

Ten years ago at 3:38 AM, my miracle baby, you changed my life forever. We fought for your life, and God showed up. Doctors said you might not make it, that you’d be in the hospital for months — but you, my little warrior, were home in two weeks.

Your Nanny Deanna was my rock, reminding me of God’s goodness when the weight felt crushing. You’ve faced challenges that would break a grown man and come out stronger every time.

Cortez Jackson, you’re the melody that fills my heart with joy. I’ll always be here, holding your hand through storms and cheering your victories.

Happy 2nd Birthday To My Lil Mimi Me A’Zure! 🌹

Last year, I wrote about the moment I felt your tiny kicks and somersaults inside my womb, and how I knew you were going to bring immense joy and love into our lives. This year, I’m reflecting on how much you’ve grown and how much more love you’ve brought into our world.

From your first birthday, where you took your first steps and gave us all a scare (in the best way possible!), to your curious explorations of the world around you, every moment with you is a gift. Your big brothers are still smitten with you - Lil Dee’s protective nature has turned into a fun, playful big brother role, Tez is still your partner in crime, and Three’s kisses and hugs are now accompanied by silly dances. And Ko? He’s still your biggest fan, always asking about you and showering you with love.

As you turn 2, we’re excited to see the little person you’re becoming - curious, adventurous, and full of love. We’re grateful for the laughter, the tears, and the memories we’ve shared so far. My love, today marks 1 year since we took the leap and started this incredible journey together, but honestly, it feels like a lifetime. 💕 We’ve been on this ride called life together for 5 years, and I’m so grateful to call you mine.

From late-night conversations to silly jokes, we’ve shared it all. We’ve been each other’s rock, each other’s confidant, and now, each other’s everything and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. 😍 You’ve seen me at my best and at my worst and you’ve still chosen me.
