Unbound presents: Compulsion // October 9th · 11pm-late

We’re back at a Boston warehouse location for another high-energy all-night techno session — showcasing four artists making their mark on the Northeast’s underground.

Stepping in at peak time is Providence-based DJ and producer Emma Rak. Propulsive, intense, and delicate, her sets stretch from deep, percussive techno into freetekno, psytrance, and newer mutations of fast techno and halftime bass. She has releases with Somnia Records, Ninety-Three Collective, v23, and Synthetic Pleasures, recently completed a multi-year residency with @hkcronline , and runs @anti__alias in Providence - an event series oriented around leftfield techno and diy parties. Emma approaches the booth with a rare intensity and delicacy that coexist in ways few selectors can pull off.

On closing duties is Cow Tools. NYC-based and shaped by the underground forest parties she helped organize in the UK, she gravitates toward hypnotic techno, minimal, and hardgroove — drawing from softer and harder ends of the spectrum. Entrancing and varied, dreamlike and sharp, she finds particular delight in crafting expertly paced sets with a strong sense of narrative arc. Expect a sonic-journey to guide us into the early hours.

Seo returns to the Compulsion booth. Korean-American, Boston-raised, and now NYC-based and active across the city’s queer and FLINTA-focused underground. As a resident of @infraboston , her techno puts the body first — hypnotic grooves, hard claps, and rolling percussion that steadily tighten their grip until instinct takes over. After her set with us in June we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her back.

Opening the night we welcome PucciKat — China-born, Boston-based, and active across both cities' underground scenes. Her sets move between psychedelic and hypnotic cuts, dark and high-energy, from deep and restrained to fast and heavy, exactly what we need to start the night.

@soundlogic_boston powers the night with a lovely 5-point sound system 🔊

Returning to Unbound for her second appearance, we welcome: Seo

Seo is a Korean-American DJ shaped between Boston’s underground and her hometown of New York City. She first found her footing behind the decks while organizing parties in Boston, where she learned to read a room from both sides of the booth before becoming a resident with @infraboston .

Now based in NYC, Seo plays techno that puts the body first. Hypnotic grooves, hard claps, and rolling percussion form the backbone of sets that steadily tighten their grip on the dance floor. Her sound is fluid yet relentless, pulling the room deeper into the groove until instinct takes over.

Alongside her Infra residency, she’s active across New York’s underground, playing queer and FLINTA-focused dance floors while developing a sound rooted in rhythm, momentum, and movement.

Seo returns on October 9th for another high-energy set that is not to be missed.

Tomorrow night, we welcome back to the booth: oansen & RY

Both Boston-based, they met at a rave a year ago and instantly hit it off over a shared love for techno. After one year of friendship, this b2b feels like the perfect way to mark it.

oansen’s a selector originating from Germany, blending melodic techno, driving groove, and hardgroove into high-energy sets defined by atmospheric melodies and unique textures. Inspired by Berlin’s diverse music culture, his sound bridges genres and brings the room together in celebration of Boston’s thriving community.

RY has developed an atmospheric, ethereal, and psychedelic approach to techno rooted in dub textures and restrained rhythm. His sets move through long transitions and extended blends, building slowly and deliberately — feeling connected to the present moment and shaped by the energy of the room.

The chemistry between the two speaks for itself.

Stepping in at peak time, we welcome: Naomi Duan

Naomi Duan plays techno by engineering a sensation that unfolds. The New York-based DJ and producer builds sets from euphoric synths, raw intensity, and deep emotional arc — shaped by over a decade of classical piano training and years in the underground scenes of Hong Kong, New York, and Europe. With a background in psychology and design, she treats every set as a form of sound therapy, built to ground and lift the spirits of the room.

This year, shifting away from her previous DJ persona White Sabbath, Naomi comes back under her own name — establishing herself not only as a DJ who keeps the room moving, but as a serious talent in the studio. Her debut EP Sensation and Perception on @diffusereality arrived in August as her first full body of original production, with a second EP due before the end of the year. 2026 has been shaping up as a year of momentum, and she brings it to the dancefloor on September 11th.

On closing duties, we welcome: VEZ

VEZ is a NYC-based electronic artist whose sound blends the groove of his Italian roots with the raw edge of the underground. Growing up between Italy and NYC he was raised on 90s house and progressive sounds, shaping his deep connection to music and community. Having spent years immersed in the underground scene, he’s developed a deep and wide-ranging knowledge of electronic music, which he channels into genre-fluid sets drawing from techno, house and everything in between. A resident of @infraboston , he plays with instinct and emotion, creating deep, driving journeys that connect with the crowd in any setting.

VEZ closes the night on September 11th. Expect a set that takes the room deep and glues you to the floor until the early hours.

We welcome to the booth, Fairteh:

Fairteh is a selector who follows the tracks rather than steers them. He creates long blends until the energy shifts, and the set takes on a whole new direction. Sounds are selected for the moment you look up and find yourself in a completely new biome. His sets are full of percussive elements, an inspiration that comes from years of listening to jazz, funk and fusion.

He opens the night on September 11th, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him set the tone for the evening.

Unbound presents: Compulsion // September 11th · 11pm-late

Boston, we’re back. Another all-night-long warehouse session built on uncompromising techno, pulling together some of the most exciting artists moving through the northeast’s underground circuit right now.

Naomi Duan steps in at peak time. NYC-based and globally forged across the underground scenes of Hong Kong, New York and Europe, her sound blends euphoric synths and raw intensity drawn from over a decade of classical piano training. With a background in psychology, she wants her listeners to walk away lifted, feeling grounded and expanded at once. Fresh off the release of her EP Sensation and Perception on @diffusereality , she brings that momentum to the Compulsion dancefloor.

On closing duties is VEZ — an NYC-based selector whose sound blends the groove of his Italian roots with the raw edge of the underground. Raised on 90s house and progressive sounds and now a resident of @infraboston , he channels a deep knowledge of electronic music into genre-fluid sets drawing from techno, house and everything in between. The kind of closing set that glues you to the floor til the early hours.

Oansen and RY return to the booth — two friends and co-organizers of Unbound bringing a tasteful b2b to the Compulsion dancefloor. Oansen’s Berlin-influenced melodic drive and atmospheric hardgroove meets RY’s ethereal, psychedelic approach rooted in dub textures and restrained percussion. The chemistry between the two speaks for itself.

Opening the night is Fairteh — Moscow-born, Boston-based, and deeply rooted in the city's underground techno scene. An artist we've had on our radar for a while, Fairteh follows the tracks rather than steering them. His sounds are selected for the moment you look up and find yourself somewhere completely new, rooted in years of listening to jazz, funk and fusion. There's a patience and precision to the way Fairteh selects, and we're excited for him to set the tone for the night ahead.
