Last week our AuD students volunteered their time on an initiative to fit dental students with custom hearing protection!

Dentists encounter damaging noise from drills and other equipment that they work with on a daily basis throughout their careers. This was a great collaboration on education regarding the need to protect dentists' hearing! It also gave all involved students the opportunity make connections with other health professions.

These students will receive Starkey SoundGear High Frequency Noise Filters to reduce the intensity of damaging high frequency sounds while maintaining audibility of middle and low frequencies necessary for conversational speech with patients and team members.

A big thank you to everyone who participated! by @unc_saa
