‘you should eat a burger’ closes Saturday, July 18.

Don’t miss Erin Carle’s multi-media solo exhibition in which she tackles an everyday phrase with humor and bright colors turning it into a very personal and meaningful conversation - punchy, there is nothing subtle about it and you will love it.

On July 9 we hosted Erin’s artist talk - intimate group, real conversation. She gave us a first look at where her work is going next. And the new works are just too good to only show for one evening - so on view still:-)

Sometimes you have to go back to realize everything you’ve learned. Going back to canvas was so rewarding! I found that my technique has evolved, I now work in layers, work to create texture, and build up the surface more slowly. All in all — I’ll definitely be doing it again ;) taken in Austin, Texas by @unchained.art.gallery

Eat this. Buy this. Try this. Extra sauce. On sale now. New flavor. Limited time.

We are surrounded by it constantly, and somehow in the middle of all of it, we are also supposed to look perfect.

That is what Erin Carle’s ‘For Consumption’ is about. A classical bust, serene and beautifully painted, while food surrounds her, outlined and labeled like a menu, like an ad, like everything competing for your attention at once. The contradiction is the point.

The exhibition is personal and vulnerable, come check it out.

What an opening night - thank you to everyone who came out.

‚you should eat a burger‘ is on view through July 18.

Erin Carle’s work is something that stays with you. Bright, funny, and then she reveals something sharper underneath. Through painting, ceramic and video Carle transforms an everyday phrase into the conceptual centre of the exhibition.
