HAPPY UNCLE DAY! We did it! We deserve it! For the wild cards, the ones who brighten up our lives, the ones who dare to dream! The freaks, the creators, the story tellers, the expressers! I love you! When I was a kid, my uncle would show up to our house unannounced on a random weeknight. Just popping in for a catch up, he would captivate us with outrageous stories of his life, stories that have become family legends. His freaky persona, and 'leap into the unknown' approach to life impacted me greatly as a child who was struggling to fit in anywhere. His stories made me think 🤔 maybe you can do life differently. As an adult I'm still obsessed with the humans who choose to grab the bull by the horns! The trail blazers and wildcards who truly inspire us! These are the people that UNCLE DAY celebrates! Every family has a black sheep, every friend group has someone over the top, and every work place has the lunch break entertainer! UNCLE DAY is for the people who double down on themselves! ONE WEEK TIL UNCLE DAY! As the night grew darker on Territory Day, some Darwin locals showed us a truck with some of the fireworks! We had travelled to Darwin to get amongst the Territory Day celebrations. While road side shopping fireworks we met some folks who invited us to their own fire work show but we didn't make it in time. Instead we ran into them in a vacant lot behind a Domino's! Travelling to Humpty Doo to see the boxing Croc wasn't our plan. We had come to the NT to celebrate Territory Day, buy and let off fireworks and film a documentary about it all. I thought this was be the perfect opportunity to shoot for my upcoming biggest chronic bone project to date, 'UNCLE DAY'! I rushed around for weeks getting all then products ready before the trip and had to check extra bags on the airline. The plan was to travel from Darwin CBD to the outskirts of town buying at every major firework retailer on the way. Didn't realise the last one was at Humpty Doo! by @unclechronicbone
