I’m so excited to invite you all to a special evening of music, reflection, and connection at Northwest Christian Church on Friday, November 13th at 7:30 PM, as part of their Chalice Arts Series!❤️

I’ll be singing some of my favorite songs and sharing a message about the importance of community, and our collective spirit.

✨ I would LOVE to fill the house and share this experience with as many of you as possible!

Beyond kismet that the first baby I got to deliver was my nephew Virgil Alexander Boikai (named after his Uncle). This clip of @symonedsanders sounded so familiar to me, and then I finally remembered where I heard such similar white supremacist framing, and it was when this white woman questioned my goat Louis Farrakhan on Donahue. Reminds me that there is nothing new under the sun, and just as wild as it is to witness SOME of the victims of the Holocaust perpetrate a genocide, it’s also wild to see educated black folks like Symone become defenders of white supremacy and elude to hearing violence when @hasandpiker is only discussing liberation. Did y’all know that my dad @leroyboikai was a Wheel of Fortune Champion!! Winning a total of 82,725, Dad tore them people UP! You see him teaching Pat Sajak the Liberian Hand Shake and all, they got very familiar during the episode because pops just wouldn’t let up!! 😂😂 Super proud of this moment, he surprised us all, we would usually watch Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy before that #iykyk, and we found out that our dad was not only on tv, but that he annihilated the competition and brought home an amazing prize. Fun Fact: I DEFINITELY rode that Land Rover to my Senior Prom! Perks of having a beast of a dad! 😉 #WheelofFortune #VannaWhite #PatSajak #Champ by @unclevanjah

When we talk about dismantling the Patriarchy, when we talk about Protecting Children, protecting women, the least amongst us, which will always be our babies, we have to very clearly name what’s at work with these systems. Control is central to patriarchal power, it’s the battery and the source. Not just control, but more so domination! Dismantling the patriarchy is dismantling the necessity to control people, including and especially children! Respect ≠ Control. Love ≠ Control. Control has to be decentered if we would like to see a world where Men don’t hurt children. On period. by @unclevanjah
