💙 $100,000 INVESTMENT IN UNC AND OUR COMMUNITY! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that UNC has received a $100,000 grant from the @scranton.area.fdn (Scranton Area Community Foundation) through its 2026 Community Support Initiative! The funding will help UNC address critical facility and operational needs across its network of program sites. The grant provides flexible support for day-to-day operations and facility improvements, helping ensure safe, functional, and welcoming spaces for the individuals and families who rely on UNC's programs and services each day. 👏 A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Scranton Area Community Foundation for investing in UNC and helping us continue making a difference throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania! 📸 Pictured (left to right): Cathy Fitzpatrick, SACF Vice President of Grants & Scholarships; Lisa Durkin, UNC President and Chief Executive Officer; Laura Ducceschi, SACF President & CEO; and David Price, SACF Chair of the Board of Governors. by @uncnepa

UNC recently launched its new Youth Language Partnership, a seven-week program that brings together students from our School-Aged Tutoring and Leaders-in-Training (LIT) programs to strengthen their English and Spanish language skills through interactive lessons, cultural exchange, and group activities. Inspired by our adult SCOLA Language Partnership, the youth program features lessons adapted to make learning engaging and fun. During a recent lesson about family members, students created their own family trees to practice new vocabulary and share a little about themselves. There's still an opportunity to join! The program welcomes students in grades 6–12 and meets Thursdays from 4:30–6 p.m., followed by dinner. Interested? Contact Andrea DeSando at 272-228-1368 or adesando@uncnepa.org. This program is supported by funding from United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne & Pike through UNC's School-Aged Tutoring Program. #UNCNEPA #UnitedWay by @uncnepa
