When I bought this house, I knew I wanted to turn my sunroom into an art studio, but I couldn’t bring in all my tools and equipment until I did something about the sinking floor.

You can watch the seasons (and my hair color) change while I tried to figure out what was making my house succumb to the pit of despair. It took a ton of *research, a long time, and a lot of muscle to get the corner of my house lifted several inches. Thankfully, after all that digging and concrete mixing, the siding install went super smoothly.

Fiber cement siding is the MVP when it comes to affordably withstanding heat, humidity, wind, and pests. Plus, it’s paintable and easy to install. Your girl loves a one page instruction sheet, and I especially enjoy when companies tell you exactly what size fasteners to use. When it comes to @jameshardie products, you can quickly get all the installation info you need on lowes.com, which makes the whole process even easier.

I’ve only finished the trim and paint on one tiny little section of the house, so there’s still a lot of work left to do. I’m not sure I can even count how many trips to @loweshomeimprovement I’ve taken so far, but it’s already worth it to have this space closer to usable!

Check out all the #lowesfinds I picked up to make this project possible at https://shoplowes.me/4pr8Hmg

* This room is not part of my main house. If I had changed it from a three season room to a fully conditioned space, I would have been required to build a stone foundation as well as overhaul the electrical system. All I’ve done is replace parts that were faulty, without upgrading anything. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @uncommonoutpost

This fall, I’ve teamed up with @superhandyus to battle the invasive plants taking over my yard!

It’s going to quite the fight, so I’ll be checking in every two weeks to report on the progress. If you have tips or tricks on how to win the war against Privet and Mulberry Weed, drop them in the comments!

I keep seeing “Christmas in July” everywhere, so here’s a Christmas craft for you (with a little background story)

Every December, my parents’ friends are receiving adorable handmade gifts from their grandchildren, while mine are left empty handed.

Mom and Dad won’t be getting any grand-babies from me, but I did my best to fill the void of cheesy holiday crafts by remaking the same footprint reindeer ornament I gave them as a child.

Come back tomorrow for Part 2

This is the making of Waffle House Bunny for 2025’s Fast Food Bunnies group, at Dragon Con’s #bunnyhutch

This year, I’m going to have my whole #bunnysuit finished before August…maybe….probably not….

My Brave Little Toaster rolled off the assembly line exactly 20 years ago. I’ve only had her for a few years, but we’ve definitely been on a few adventures together.

Here’s hoping she’ll make it another 20 years!

It’s Friday afternoon, are you bringing your work tools home over the weekend?

When I upgraded the industrial maintenance tools I use to @knipex_northamerica, I quickly realized how much more enjoyable work could be when your tools are working for you, instead of fighting against you.

Why keep your favorite tools at work? Hobbies deserve quality tools as well! taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @uncommonoutpost

No more burn piles for this girl!!

Thanks to the folks at @superhandyus I can clean up all the fallen branches in my yard without violating Georgia’s summer long burn ban. As an added bonus, all these wood chips will help my plants retain moisture during the hot summer days.

Instead of sending your tree trimmings to the landfill, check out SuperHandy’s line of compact wood chippers perfect for homeowners, gardeners, and homesteaders

I started my #VaelusCosplay back in January, determined to make every element myself. She won’t be finished before MomoCon this weekend, but I’m so proud of what I’ve done at this point I’m probably going to wear her anyway 🤣
