POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hi, I’m Jess 👽👩🏼‍💻💸💃🏼💪🏼🚀

I just started this account from zero after walking away from the audience and business I’d spent years building.

Because I had outgrown who I was.

Over the last eight years, I’ve traveled the world, built a six-figure online business, coached dozens of entrepreneurs, became sober, healed from burnout, and learned the hard way that building a successful business and building a life you actually enjoy are two very different things.

For years, I thought success meant working harder.

Being available 24/7.

Saying yes to every opportunity.

Tying my worth to revenue, followers, and productivity.

Now I’m building differently.

I’m obsessed with sustainable entrepreneurship.

With helping ambitious founders increase their capacity instead of their stress.

With building businesses that create more freedom—not just financially, but mentally and emotionally too.

Around here, we talk about founder loneliness, nervous system regulation, identity, health, faith, self-leadership, meaningful connections, and what it really takes to build a business you can thrive inside.

If you’re an ambitious online business owner, coach, consultant, freelancer, creator, agency owner, or remote founder who wants to grow without losing yourself in the process...

I think you’re in the right place.

Tell me where you’re building your business from 👀👩🏼‍💻⬇️ by @unconventional.founders

Nobody warns you ⬇️

You can have complete freedom.

Work from anywhere.

Set your own schedule.

Travel the world.

And still spend eight hours alone in front of a laptop wondering when you last had a real conversation.

It’s one of the biggest contradictions of remote entrepreneurship.

From the outside, it looks like you’ve made it.

No commute.

No office politics.

No boss.

But what people don’t see is how quiet your days can become.

How every decision lands on your shoulders.

How your biggest wins often happen alone.

How there isn’t a colleague to grab coffee with after a difficult client call.

Or someone to celebrate with when you hit your biggest month ever.

The internet made it possible to build a business from anywhere.

But it also made it incredibly easy to build one in isolation.

It’s strange.

You can be surrounded by thousands of followers and still feel unseen.

You can have complete freedom and still crave a sense of belonging.

For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me for feeling this way.

Now I think it’s just the hidden reality of building an online business that almost nobody talks about.

It’s also one of the biggest reasons I’m intentionally building my life differently now.

I’m choosing roots over constant movement.

Community over hyper-independence.

Real conversations over endless screen time.

Because I’ve realized something:

Freedom means very little if you have nobody to share it with.

For the longest time, I measured my success only by numbers.

How much money I made that month.
How many followers I gained.
How well a post performed.

And without realizing it, I gave those numbers the power to determine how I felt about myself.

If business was growing, I felt confident.

If business slowed down, I felt like I needed to work harder, be better, prove more.

Now, I still care deeply about building an exceptional business. I want to grow. I want to make more money. I want to create a massive impact.

But those are no longer my most important KPIs.

These days, I’m far more interested in whether I can close my laptop and actually be present.

Whether I wake up feeling energized instead of depleted.

Whether my business still feels exciting instead of heavy.

Whether I can make big decisions without my nervous system spiraling.

Because I’ve realized something:

The quality of your business will eventually reflect the quality of the founder behind it.

If you’re constantly overwhelmed, disconnected, and running on adrenaline, eventually your business will be too.

High performance isn’t about seeing how much pressure you can tolerate.

It’s about increasing your capacity without constantly sacrificing yourself in the process.

Revenue still matters.

Growth still matters.

Ambition still matters.

But if your business keeps growing while your health declines, your relationships suffer, and you forget how to enjoy your own life…

that’s not success (for me)

That’s self-abandonment disguised as ambition.

My biggest KPI today isn’t just what’s happening in my Stripe account.

It’s whether I’m building a business I actually enjoy living inside.

Because what’s the point of creating freedom…

if you never feel free? 👀

We gotta talk about this 🤯⬇️

Every time I think, “Okay… I finally get this entrepreneurship thing,” life hands me a brand new challenge I’ve never faced before.

First it was getting clients.

Then raising my prices.

Then boundaries.

Then burnout.

Then reinvention.

Then building a business that actually feels good to wake up to.

Every season has asked me to become a different version of myself.

Looking back, I’ve made so many mistakes. I’ve launched things too early. I’ve overworked. I’ve undercharged. I’ve chased validation. I’ve built from fear. I’ve made decisions from scarcity instead of trust.

And I’m sure six months from now, I’ll look back at today’s version of me and laugh again.

Because that’s entrepreneurship.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this:

Business growth is rarely limited by strategy.

It’s limited by the founder’s capacity.

Your capacity to lead yourself when things feel uncertain.

Your ability to regulate your nervous system when everything feels urgent.

Your willingness to let go of old identities that got you here but won’t get you where you’re going.

The founders who build sustainable businesses aren’t the ones who never make mistakes.

They’re the ones who keep evolving.

Who stay curious.

Who take radical responsibility.

Who don’t let every setback shake their identity.

Your business will always expose the next version of you that’s asking to grow.

And honestly?

That’s what makes entrepreneurship one of the greatest personal development journeys there is.

What’s one business lesson you wish you could go back and teach the version of yourself from a year ago? 👇👀 by @unconventional.founders

Building a business is wild because.. 🤯⬇️

...you can genuinely love what you do and want to quit in the same week.

You can have your biggest month ever and still feel like you’re falling behind.

You can be excited to share your story and terrified of being seen.

You can dream about never having to work again... while being unable to stop working.

You can be deeply grateful for the life you’ve built... and still feel completely overwhelmed by the responsibility that comes with it.

For the longest time, I thought something was wrong with me.

I thought, “Why can’t I just be happy? Why can’t I just enjoy this?”

But I’ve realized this isn’t a personal flaw.

It’s the psychological reality of building something that constantly stretches who you are.

Entrepreneurship isn’t just a business journey.

It’s an identity journey.

Every new level asks a different version of you to show up.

Not just with better strategies.

But with more emotional capacity.

More self-trust.

More ability to regulate yourself when things feel uncertain.

Because eventually, your biggest bottleneck isn’t your marketing.

Or your content.

Or your offer.

It’s your ability to lead yourself through the emotional roller coaster of building something that matters.

I never saw this coming 🤯⬇️

Growing up, my mum worked three jobs just to keep us afloat.

Money was always something we worried about.

There was never enough of it, and whatever we did have had to be saved for the next emergency.

So I spent years believing one thing:

“Once I make enough money, I’ll finally feel safe.”

When I started my business, that became my mission.

I told myself that once I hit my first €10k month, I’d finally be able to relax.

Then I hit it.

Then I hit multi 5-figure months.

And something happened that I never saw coming.

The more money I made, the more terrified I became of losing it.

Instead of feeling safe…

I felt an overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

Instead of feeling peaceful…

I felt pressure.

Instead of finally relaxing…

My nervous system went into overdrive.

I became hypervigilant.

I overworked.

I started second-guessing everything.

I self-sabotaged—not because I wasn’t capable of building the business, but because I didn’t yet have the capacity to hold it.

Nobody talks about that.

Nobody talks about how success can feel incredibly unsafe when your nervous system has spent a lifetime preparing for the worst.

Or how much shame comes with it.

Because from the outside, I was living the dream.

Working from beautiful places around the world.

Making more money than I’d ever imagined.

Living the life I’d once prayed for.

So why did I still feel anxious?

Why couldn’t I just enjoy it?

The shame and guilt made me feel even worst…

Today, I understand that building a successful business isn’t just about learning how to make more money.

It’s about becoming the kind of person who can hold more money & responsibility.

So what I had to learn was growing my capacity to lead myself through every level it brings.

Because what’s the point of creating a life you’ve always dreamed of if you can’t enjoy it?

Not wearing burnout like a badge of honor.. 🤯⬇️

Somewhere along the way, we started glorifying stress and always being busy in entrepreneurship as proof that we cared enough.

We praised founders who were always “on.”

Who never took a day off.

Who sacrificed their health, relationships, and peace in the name of ambition.

And we called it success.

But here’s what I’ve learned...

If your business only works because you’re constantly running on pressure, it’s not freedom.

It’s survival mode with better branding.

The founders I admire most aren’t the busiest.

They’re the ones who can close their laptop without guilt.

Who sleep deeply.

Who are fully present with the people they love.

Who have ambitious goals and enough capacity to actually enjoy achieving them.

Because what’s the point of building your dream business if you become someone who no longer has the energy to enjoy the life it was meant to create?

I’m not interested in building the biggest business at the expense of myself.

I’m interested in building one I can still love living inside ten years from now.

If you’re a remote entrepreneur, solopreneur, or ambitious founder who’s tired of the polished highlight reel…

Nobody prepares you for this part 🤯⬇️

The part where you’ve built the business…

You work remotely from places you once dreamed of…

You have the freedom you spent years chasing…

You make more money than you ever imagined…

People look at your life and think, “You’ve made it.”

And yet...

Your brain keeps moving the finish line.

You compare yourself to founders making more.

You focus on everything that’s still missing.

You dismiss the wins you prayed for a few years ago because they’re now your “normal.”

The weird thing about ambition is that it doesn’t always celebrate your progress.

Sometimes it erases it.

You can be ahead of 99% of people and still feel behind because you’re only comparing yourself to the 1%.

That’s one of the hidden psychological costs of being a high achiever, an unconventional entrepreneur and building an online business where there is always someone scaling faster, launching bigger, or making more.

I’ve realized that the goal isn’t to become less ambitious.

It’s to stop outsourcing my sense of enough to the next milestone 💸

Because if every achievement immediately becomes the new baseline...

No amount of success will ever feel like success.

If you’re a remote entrepreneur, solopreneur, or ambitious founder who’s tired of the polished highlight reel…

Nobody really talks about this part of entrepreneurship.

The part where your brain never switches off.

In the first year of building my online business, I was constantly in that state.

My mind was always running.
I felt this constant pressure and anxiety in the background.
I had zero boundaries.

I was available for my clients 24/7.
Answering messages late at night.
Thinking about the business the second I woke up.

And at some point I realized something uncomfortable:

I wasn’t running the business.
The business was running me!!!! 🤯

From the outside it looked like I was building something exciting.

But internally I was exhausted and starting to resent the very thing I had created.

So I changed the way I was operating as a founder.

I stopped trying to do everything.
I built actual boundaries with my clients.
I started managing my energy and nervous system instead of constantly running on pressure.

And I focused on becoming the kind of CEO who could actually hold a growing business.

That shift changed everything.

It’s what helped me first scale my online business to six figures.

And it’s also what allowed me to generate $55,000 in 23 days without burning myself out in the process.

Because the truth is:

Scaling a business isn’t just about better strategies.

It’s about increasing your capacity as a founder.

Your discipline.
Your self-leadership.
Your ability to manage pressure and make decisions without collapsing into old patterns.

Your business will only grow as fast as you do.

If you’re a founder or entrepreneur building an online business and realizing that the real work is learning how to lead yourself…
