It seems my old nemesis the comic con curse of insomnia has followed me here all the way to Africa!

But it’s ok - to me, that is always the sign of an excellent event! Everything about this place, this event, the food, these amazing people… so much to process, it is simply too awesome here for me to sleep!
Day 2 was another banger of a day! So many amazing conversations, so many excellent fans picking up prints and comics and sketches (which I naturally forgot to take pictures of) - and today (Saturday) will be even bigger!

It’s been a wild 24 hours, but Erika and I have landed safely in beautiful Johannesburg!
We were in centre seats (on the biggest airplane I’ve ever been on) for the first leg from YYZ to Amsterdam, so I wasn’t able to get any window pictures, but today I had window seats as ae flew from Amsterdam to South Africa, flying over the Alps and Mont Blanc, crossing , the Mediterranean Sea, and straight south through the entire African continent over the Sahara desert. Saw the most incredible cloud formations, and we were both stuffed with delicious gourmet food all day by the lovely KLM flight attendants.
Realized with some sadness today that my perfectly curated set of sharpie paint markers )that I was sure I had packed!) are still sitting at home in canada on my drawing table, so I may due with the best I had available to draw on these shiny dark blue KLM air sickness receptacles, because #barfbagartclub is for life, and cannot be defeated.

It was an awesome weekend at @ottawa_comiccon! Thanks to everyone who made it such a special event, especially @maritimecomicguy for having me there, and taking care of every one.
Always great to hangout with such excellent people, tabling between @jim_zub and @tvgrummett put me into fine company indeed! The Sketch battle with @darickwrtist was a really good time, and @mynameiskingdom is always an excellent host.

Many thanks to Jim Zub for the lovely gift of Bizarre Adventures #26, featuring a full length KULL story illustrated by John Bolton, which we poured over every panel, so rad! Stopped by @nefariouscomics on Saturday and did some sketch with @tomfowlerart and @glenparadis on the industry night event, thanks for a great time Ryan!
