Milagros Romano (@miliromano_), @vexxel.bio (Argentina). Biodegradable smart capsules that protect crops only when needed, cutting chemical use by up to 90%. Built by an all-women team of scientists.

Yezichalem Tessema, @theday_agro (Ethiopia). From jam made in her kitchen to one of Ethiopia's leading fruit processors, buying directly from smallholder farmers. Workforce doubled in two years.

Paula Gianserra (@paugianserra), @reforest.latam (Argentina). Satellites, AI and drone seeding to restore degraded land. The goal: 500,000 hectares of native forest by 2030.

Technology is changing how we work, learn and do business. Meet the three Technology finalists of the 9th Women in Business Awards, presented in Doha on 26 October:

Paula Dalla Vecchia, @zeit.ia (Brazil). Portable AI devices that test grain, milk and crops on the spot, in minutes instead of days, with no chemicals and no internet.

Biobele Oyibo, @myearlybean (Nigeria). An app, smart wristbands and payment cards that help children and teenagers learn to save, budget and spend wisely.

Andreyna Silva, @coostura.app (Brazil). She grew up watching her mother sew with no contract and no protection. Coostura now connects more than 200 self-employed seamstresses with fashion companies.

Innovation means rethinking products, services and business models to meet new needs. Meet the three Innovation finalists of the 9th Women in Business Awards, presented in Doha on 26 October:

Adriana Fernandes, @matrikacomidas (Brazil). When her son was diagnosed with multiple food allergies, she couldn't find safe products, so she made her own. Mátrika's allergen-free meals are now served in hospitals, schools and on international airlines.

Aisha Albinali, Wafir (Qatar). She co-founded Wafir to bring Qatar's group savings circles online. This year's host-country finalist.

Silvana Louro (@silvanalouro), @equalhubcultural_modainclusiva (Brazil). Inclusive fashion, every piece in two versions, for people with and without disabilities. Now in more than 130 stores across Brazil.

Leadership is about more than growth: it's about holding a clear vision through uncertainty, building teams that thrive and opening doors for others. Meet the three Leadership finalists of the 9th Women in Business Awards:

🌳 Sandra Letio (Pelere Group, @gpelere, Uganda) started with $30. Today she works with more than 5,000 smallholder farmers in Northern Uganda, turning shea trees into natural skincare, haircare and home-care products sold across Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. Pelere Group employs 150 people, with women at the heart of its value chain.

👶 Milky Mamo (Efoy Nanny & Housekeeping Training Center, Ethiopia) founded Efoy to professionalise childcare and create careers for women. In just two months, more than 1,700 women across several cities were trained. The team has grown from four to fourteen, with every management role held by a woman.

✂️ Chan Mendy (Ida's Ideas Fashion Design Institute, @idas_ideas_fashion_institute, The Gambia) grew up in her mother's fashion house and founded The Gambia's pioneering fashion design institute after her 2017 Empretec training. More than 500 students have trained there, and 85% of graduates have launched their own fashion businesses.
