We are looking for 4 registered nurses (RNs) to take BPs and answer questions about BP, heart rate, etc. from mid-January through June, 2022. In honor of National Nurse Practitioner Week (Nov. 7-13), School of Nursing faculty Kelly Laham and Tami Link, along with a few other nurse practitioners, met with Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo as he signed a proclamation for National Nurse Practitioner Week.

The annual event celebrates exceptional health care providers to remind lawmakers of the importance of removing outdated barriers to practice so nurse practitioners can practice to the full extent of their experience and education. #uncw #uncwchhs #NationalNursePractitionerWeek by @uncw_schoolofnursing

UNCW held the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Cape Fear Heart Walk on Saturday, October 30, 2021. The CHHS Team Co-Captains Carolyn Kleman and Kirkshinta Turnipseed led the team on the walk to help raise money to fund scientific advances to prevent and treat heart disease and strokes while celebrating heart disease and stroke survivors.

Many thanks to the CHHS Co-Captains and their team for volunteering their time and efforts to raise funds, for providing a glimmer of hope to the millions affected, and for celebrating the many survivors locally and across the nation!
