Today, we want to shout out our alum, Karly Brownfield! Karly currently serves as the Senior Program Manager at the Southeastern Wind Coalition. 🍃 💡

Karly’s advice for current MCOP students is to “never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone - you never know where it might lead you! Utilize your MCOP network, approach the job market with curiosity, and find opportunities to stay involved with the issues you are most passionate about.”

When asked her favorite memory from MCOP, Karly said “there are too many MCOP memories to count, but participating in the NCCIE course will always be one of my favorites.”

🎓 If you’re interested in a career like Karly’s, check out the link in our bio to find out how you can apply to the MCOP program!

Policies aren’t just pieces of paper written in offices, they’re shaped by real experiences and rooted in our communities 🌅

Estuaries are where fresh and saltwater mix, creating some of the most productive ecosystems on Earth. But they are also where ecology meets economy. For coastal communities, smart policy is the shield against climate change, sea-level rise, and habitat loss ⛈️

☀️ We’re training the next generation of policy leaders at UNCW to build sustainable, community-first solutions for our coastlines.
