Not-A-Project (Kleine Karibik, Brandenburg, 2025)

The Not-A-Project was a result of an ongoing initiative at KU Leuven Sint-Lucas, ‘Not-A-Bar’. Parts of &co-forum were involved in a student-led bar which muddled between existing and hiding.

The installation was designed for reuse: dismantled, transported, and reassembled for other events. A nomadic object aligned with undco’s mobile ethos.

Responding to the “Little Caribbean” theme and lakeside setting, this temporary sail installation was designed to rotate with the wind, reflect light, guide visitors through the night. The structure prioritizes simplicity, mobility, and adaptability. Screw foundations anchor the pole, while rotating bearings allow the sails to move freely. Integrated lighting enhances the double-sided reflective fabric, turning the installation into a visible checkpoint at the Kleine Karibik Festival. This event has been completely organized without funding and fees for almost eight years.

SCENOGRAPHY
by @goran_schuerman , @keta.png & @_felixschroeder

A little sneak peek of our sceno team’s work process.

Drawing from the internal TRACK space and the notion of transit, particularly the spatial logic and aesthetics of train interiors, the project proposes self-supporting structural compositions for individual cabins. These structures reinterpret and repurpose elements from last year’s design market scenography, transforming them into reusable units.
Beyond serving as exhibition spaces for this year’s designers, the cabins are conceived as mobile systems. They can be borrowed, relocated, and redeployed by the public for spontaneous events across different contexts, both indoors and outdoors.

The design detailing and overall form were guided by the broader scenographic concept of fluid, transitional spaces, alongside practical budget limits. For the cabins, the primary materials consist of repurposed elements from last year’s scenography, complemented by aluminium components with their corresponding fixtures and multiplex wood surfaces.

Each wooden panel measures 244 × 144 cm. To minimize material waste, every panel was systematically divided into two equal sections, resulting in a pair of shelves intended for artists to display their work.

Come by and discover the scenography of the market made by our amazing team! 🧡

big thanks to all the volunteers and @kasse.collective for the space 💪 by @undcoforum

Pultdach! (Brandenburg, 2024)

The project does not argue towards a certain typological experimentation - neither for a representational glimmer. It remains as a humble and empathic spatial production, where communication and co-production, onsite pedagogies, and direct material sourcing merge. It values the importance of the intimate relation from the construction team, the land of southern Brandenburg with its hundred years old trees, and the owner's requests - still offering a musical stage. Pultdach was a DJ-Booth in the first year, and was turned into an open air living room in a later stage by other festivals.

Planning: &co-forum
Construction: &co-forum, Leona Schulz-Schaeffer

(i) Where are you J? (Brandenburg, 2025)

Where are you J? asks about ways of establishing contact. About the diffuse intermediate state between sending and receiving; between origin and feedback. It is about gaps in dialogue and the desire to recognise meaning in (the) world. Therefore, Where are you J? asks about the conscious condition of being relevant. With this approach, the work develops an ongoing narrative of contacts/noises that emerge in diverse public settings as temporal spatial transformations…

… digging into the betweens - and the hunt of finding J.

(ii) Where are you J? (Berlin, 2025)

Last week, we continued our conceptual research with an installation at @renate.berlin
Thank you for the invitation @post_clients and the very cosy, sweaty, and interesting spatial concept!

DOK Neuland (Leipzig, 2025)

At DOK Neuland, the XR exhibition of @dokleipzig , the structures themselves become part of the storytelling. Constructed from pine wood and reused convention-carpets, the design reveals the machine rather than concealing its technical components. Installed in the spaces of @westkreuz_leipzig and @mdbkleipzig , these structures translate abstract infrastructures into tangible forms. In collaboration with @materialbuffet_2ndhandbaumarkt , the exhibition extends the idea of hidden material cycles and the required work beyond the digital artworks into their physical surroundings by exposing the tectonic and technological infrastructures and processes that usually remain unseen, highlighting the often invisible forces shaping both our virtual and material worlds. These hidden processes also extend to the afterlives of materials: stored, reused, or redirected after DOK Neuland, components were redistributed among the involved actors, such as the workshop for internal expansion.
