If you told my 20-year-old self I’d be leaving Sydney for a farmhouse in Guyra…
I would’ve laughed. A lot. Probably with a margarita in hand 🍸

But here we are.

Swapping busy, noisy, always-on city life for something slower, quieter… and a little unknown.

This isn’t just a move.
It’s a bit of a reset. A rethink. Maybe even a rediscovery of who we are without the constant rush.

Also… apparently it snows here. So there’s that ❄️

If you’ve ever thought about starting over, changing pace, or just doing something completely different—this might be your sign (or mine 😅)

It’s hard not to keep posting when the days are just this exquisite. 🌿

We desperately need some rain, and we are very lucky to have a natural spring keeping everything going, but there is something about these early spring days at Roseville that feels especially special.

The garden is beginning to show us just how exciting the next few months are going to be. The daffodils are everywhere, the magnolias are starting to open and everywhere you look there is something else emerging.

I’ll share a photo in my stories of Dad, who at 84 is still out here most days, weeding by hand and making sure we know what we’re doing. He has spent so many years creating this garden, and now I’m beginning to understand the thought that went into every corner of it.

September and October are just around the corner and there is so much happening at Roseville that I’m bursting with excitement… almost as much as the garden, I think. 😂🌼

There are some very exciting photoshoots, the New England Garden Festival and a few other things happening behind the scenes that I can’t wait to share.

For now, though, I’m just enjoying these beautiful days and watching it all unfold.

And this is us.

Somewhere between city life and country living… in what I’m calling our “figuring it out” phase.

Life doesn’t always stick to the plan — but it does have a way of unfolding in its own time.

We will be trading busier days for a different kind of busy.

Renovations, formal gardens, veggie gardens and getting to know a new area and new community.

Also featuring our dog, who is learning the definition of farm dog 🤣 and learning sheep are not the same mates at the dog park

This space is where I’ll share it all — the move, the change, the seasons, and the small moments in between.

It won’t be perfect, but it will be real.

And maybe that’s the point 🌿

The sound of rain this week has been a blessing. 🌧️🌿

With so many areas desperately needing rain at the moment, we feel very lucky to have received some at Roseville. The gardens have certainly appreciated a good drink!

The rain has also given us another little challenge. Hamish and Fergus, our two Highland cows, are struggling to keep up with the paddocks, so it looks like a couple of little helpers might be arriving this weekend to lend a hoof and help keep things under control. Watch this space! 🐮

We’ve spent most of this week in the garden, preparing beds, tidying up and getting Roseville ready in anticipation of the New England Garden Festival.

We’ll be opening our gates on Friday 30 October, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, with Chris from @beantravelin serving coffee for purchase throughout the day. ☕️

Even better, ticket proceeds go to @can_assist , supporting people in our community affected by cancer. ❤️

It’s certainly not all perfect — and the wind has managed to blow half the petals off the cherry and pear trees before we’ve had a chance to enjoy them! — but we think the gardens are looking rather lovely.

A little rain, a lot of garden work and plenty still to do. We can’t wait to welcome you to Roseville!

Toast - It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Director of Farm Operations at Roseville. Check out his new relationship with Hamish!! 🐾

Toast has been quietly overseeing the day-to-day running of the property, keeping an eye on the gardens, supervising Jaime’s various projects and maintaining exceptionally high standards when it comes to comfort.

He’s also developed a rather close working relationship with Hamish and Fergus. Whether this falls under livestock management or simply making friends with the neighbours is still under review. 😂

His management style includes regular naps, a generous allowance for treats and the occasional unscheduled visit to the bedroom.

But someone has to keep things running around here.

And frankly, we’re not sure we’d manage without him. 🤎

🌟 This club is open to everyone, inspired by community and the great outdoors ~ meet other creatives and get outside!!

🌟 There are no judgments, no expectations, just an open invitation to step out of your usual routine and find inspiration (and yes, sometimes napping is part of the creative process!!)

what does come by donation mean??

i'm glad you asked!! it's a very common question and there is a very easy reason for it ~ we don't believe money should be a barrier to stop you from connecting with others or being creative.

plain and simple.

when you join our come by donations events you will NEVER be asked for money, if you are able to donate please speak with Kate at the beginning or end of the session ~ there are no questions asked about the amount you give and there is no expectation for the amount you give either.

Kate runs all these community events out of her back pocket because she knows how important these spaces are to offer people taken in Guyra, New South Wales by @underguyraskies

Restoration of Roseville Cottage 🏡

It doesn’t matter this is 2,323 other projects going on… tucked away beside Roseville is this beautiful little building that has sat quietly for years, waiting for someone to give it a little love.

So… here we go.

The first job is restoring the roof and giving the old girl a chance to breathe again. There’s a fair bit of work ahead, but already it feels like we’re bringing a little life back into this forgotten corner of Roseville.

We’re not quite sure exactly where this project will take us yet, but that’s half the fun.

And if all goes to plan, perhaps 2027 might be the year Roseville Cottage is worth a visit. 🌿

Another project. Another work in progress.

Because apparently we didn’t have enough already.

Things have been rather busy around Roseville lately. 🌿

Between getting ready for the Garden Festival, preparing for an artist group to visit, and generally trying to keep everything looking vaguely under control, there has been plenty happening around here.

And then, of course, there are Hamish and Fergus. 🐮🐮

Our unofficial Heads of PR, who have been very supportive of everything going on… mostly by standing around looking handsome and making sure they are included in as many photographs as possible.

Although, as much as we love these two, we weren’t quite as impressed with their contribution to the Garden Festival.

Particularly Fergus.

Let’s just say that while everyone else was admiring the beautiful gardens, Fergus was more interested in sampling the merchandise. 😂

Apparently, nobody told him the Garden Festival plants were not part of the catering.

Honestly, you can’t get the staff these days.

We’re very excited to be part of this year’s New England Garden Festival and to have Roseville included in the open gardens.

It’s a pretty special time of year to see the garden, with everything beginning to burst into flower and the New England countryside looking its absolute best.
