We welcome Erik Daghäll to the label for a fresh EP release this friday.

With an output of almost unfathomable proportions, Erik Daghäll has been building his immense back catalogue with influences from On-U sounds, Source Direct And Drexiya. While still remaining an underground cult figure well outside the margins of the mainstream. In his new “Löst Grepp E.P.”, he lets his eclectic musical background create a unique flavour of atmospheric jungle/dnb.

Catch him this Friday for a live performance at Spice99 alongside DJs Filliam Hotpicks, Nestor and Bimse Fett.

Out now!

We are proud to join forces with our good friend and one of Sweden’s jungle trailblazers, Gothenburg producer Vilhelm Hasselgren for his debut release on Underjord Records.

“OPS was made during the spring of 2024 and Way of the Samurai over two intense days in September when I was in my home studio. I tried to keep the relationship between bass and breaks in focus in both productions, allowing melodic elements and vocal samples to emerge from that. There’s a playful element in both tracks where I tried to let go of the perfectionism I had previously felt in my production, and both tracks developed from that.

I started making music when I was in high school, and in recent years, I’ve mainly focused on jungle. I draw a lot of inspiration from my friends and the people I work with. My childhood friend Theo Söderlund (Theomega) and my brother Einar Hasselgren (Local Arms) constantly inspire me in my own creative process. Big up to Bojan Lukic, who runs Bukva Sound, doing an incredible amount for the Swedish jungle scene and who also constantly inspires me.

Earlier this year, I released two collaborative EP projects with my good friends Supply from Manchester (Other Side EP [Intent Records]) and Charlie Hyphen from Bristol (Its Raining Sativa / Auto [Rezonant Body]), two projects that have been truly inspiring and motivating for me, as well as friendships that have deepened along the way. In the near future, I have an upcoming EP on Bukva Sound and a track on the Blunted Breaks V.A. on Alex Eveson’s Western Lore.”

Like most of my music, Frequency control is heavily inspired by the UK’s hardcore/jungle scene from the first half of the 90s. This one is leaning more towards the hardcore side of things, euphoric rave stabs, cheeky vocals and an ambivalent song structure. Featuring many nods to the pioneers of the original scene - Massive respect to Bizzy B, D.lux, 2 Bad Mice, Krome & Time, 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Foul Play), Wishdokta, Jack Smooth/Ron Wells, Tango (R.I.P.), Ratty, Jumpin Jack Frost, DJ Ron, Flex, Ellis Dee, Doc Scott, Ray Keith, LTJ Bukem, Aphrodite, DJ Rap, DJ Hype, Desired State and many many others.

Also big respect 2 stekker & ilcheffy for my favourite vst this year, 100% of the sounds in this tune are ruffened up through their tasty Amigo sampler and sequenced in Renoise.

Respect to underjord crew/selectors, Nestor and Gabe Dbeib
Respect to noisey neighbours crew, Arvid, Julia, Jimmi
and everyone who helped create Fusion, stockholms best rave this summer: William, Teddy, Adrian, Martina, Charlie, Gustav, Aller, Sultan, Selma, Debbie, Martin, Charlie, Hampus, Chrille, Elin, Josef and many others
Respect to Björn for the massive sound system.
Respect to those who keep showing up to our raves and club nights

Respect to the rest of the swedish jungle scene, Gustav Ejstes, Boj Lucki, DJ Yes Yes, Ljudas, Printa, Vilhelm, Theomega, DJ Kugg, Toni Bassi, Klarannov, DJ Sultan, Samir, Magnus Larsson and many others

Respect to the rest of the modern hardcore/jungle scene keeping it alive. Sherelle, Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Phineus II, Pete Cannon, IJO, Dev/null, Nia Archives, Dead Man’s Chest, Sully, Coco Bryce, Pirkka, DJ Sofa, Mantra, Decibella, FFF, Msymiakos, Fracture, M27, Kid Lib and many others

Respect to my friends and family

Last but def not least massive respect to my girlfriend Debbie and our pugalier (mix between a pug and a cavalier) Ninja for putting up with my obsession/passion and always supporting me through it. Wouldn’t have been anywhere near where I am today without them.

Please msg me if I’ve forgotten anyone

Underjord Records founding father Bimse Fett will you on a journey through UK hardcore & jungle from the early 90s. Carefully selected old vinyl combined with his own productions heavily inspired by the era.

Having recently released the single “Odyssey / Amnesia” along many others, he is now working on his first EP titled “𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑬.𝑷.” which will be released on Underjord by the end of the summer. Sneak preview of one of the songs in slide 2.

In English:

Due to the unfortunate weather conditions, we have had to change the location, but don’t worry. We will be warm and cozy under the roof of a classic warehouse space 30 minutes from Stockholm Central by subway with trains that run all night.

It was a tough decision to make, as we wanted to dance under the night sky with you all, but after much consideration and after listening to you, we chose this.

Unfortunately, we will have to raise the ticket price from SEK 99 to SEK 149 due to unexpected venue costs. But to give you all a chance to secure a cheap ticket, this price increase will take place on Saturday. This means that if you buy by Friday at the latest, the price is only SEK 99.

Thank you for your understanding, we promise we will see each other in the forest soon, but for now let’s enjoy a real warehouse rave together 💛 by @underjordrec
