My 1952 Topps Mick. The centering is truly special and, for me, far outweighs any of the card’s blemishes. Any ’52 needs strong eye appeal regardless of grade, and so much of that presentation comes down to first glance. This copy has that look. Well-centered ’52 Mantles are getting harder and harder to find, and I’m genuinely grateful to add this one to the PC. #52mantle #mickeymantle by @underthebat_

Derek Jeter ‘98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems. When it comes to the 90s, this is my grail. Not just my favorite player and set from the era, it’s the one that actually delivers in hand. The finish, the color, the attitude all feel like late 90s NYC. Is there a better set that captures that moment? I don’t think so.

Eye appeal is Moneyball for card collectors. It helps you spot mispriced talent at any budget, and when you pair that edge with real conviction, you don’t just find value, you secure some of the best copies in the hobby. Simply put, this is one of the nicest examples of this card I’ve ever seen and I couldn’t be more excited to add it to the PC. It also recently achieved HOF status on @eye_appeal_inc by @underthebat_

1997 Ultra Platinum Medallions Dwight Gooden
I’ve wanted a great Yankees-era Doc card for a while, and this one checked the box. A fun addition to the PC. PSA 7 is highest graded and pop 2. by @underthebat_

1964 Topps Mickey Mantle
Admittedly, this one was a pain to track down. This copy checks almost every box for me, and I’m willing to live with the subtle tilt while the hunt continues. I’ve always loved the design on these with the bold Yankees typography, which reminds me a bit of the ’86 design twenty+ years later. by @underthebat_

1998 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems David Cone
One of my favorite cards from this set. To me, the city landscapes are what make this release so unique, and for obvious reasons this one feels extra special. Also, Cone still crushes it on color commentary. by @underthebat_

1999 Fleer Brilliants Tony Gwynn 24kt gold
I’m a sucker for anything gold, and the 24kt set is near the top for me purely on looks. This checks every box I want when building a 1-2 card player PC, and the rarity just adds to it, with only 3 graded PSA copies in circulation. by @underthebat_

While the ’98 PMGs get most of the attention, there’s just so much to like about the ’99 design. I decided to build Yankees team sets from both years and have been slowly chipping away at them. Always happy to trade or make a deal if you have any available. by @underthebat_

1998 Skybox E-X2001 Mike Mussina Essential Credentials Now /24

The only Moose card in my collection. I’ve always loved the complexity of this set, especially for the sneakily low-numbered players. Along with CC, Mussina has to be one of the best free-agent pitching signings in Yankees history. by @underthebat_

2004-05 Exquisite MJ with a beautiful auto.

This is my only MJ card, and I was lucky enough to pick it up in a trade a few months back. I’ve wanted a great pack-pulled MJ auto in the collection for a long time, and Exquisite has always been one of my favorite products. Happy to finally lock this one into the PC. 1999 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Barry Bonds
I’m a sucker for these. One of the things I like most about the ‘99 PMGs is how simple they are. The oversized “BONDS” in the background does all the heavy lifting, and the gold PMG finish ties everything together. by @underthebat_
