I DID THAT!

I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. When I got sick and went up to 512 lbs at my highest I didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I felt so defeated and really thought I wouldn’t make it to my 30th birthday. My PCP recommended weight loss surgery and I was so against it. I eventually became open to the idea and I went for a consultation. I met my surgeon and we clicked! I loved his honesty and his professionalism but he mentioned how a VSG wouldn’t really help because of my weight but that’s the surgery I wanted. 8/4/17 I went in at 460lbs already having lost 52lbs. When I lost 100lbs he was happy, when I lost 200 he was floored and when I lost over 300 he was shocked. I remember going back saying I can’t crack the 200’s but he assured me I was a success. I didn’t believe him - was I proud of what I had accomplished? Yess! Was I satisfied? No!! I knew my goal was to see a 1 at the beginning my weight number. I FINALLY DID IT! Was it all the surgery? Absolutely NOT! I’ve worked hard!!

I look back at that girl - she was existing and not living. But man was she loved!

The essence of who I am hasn’t changed. My body has but my soul hasn’t. I’ve grown and changed which is part of life.

I show my wins because I work hard but I also show my losses because they happen. I speak truth because not everything is sunshine and rainbows. But I’ve always said … without rain there can be no flowers.

Am I done? NO! But I’ve lost 315.4lbs and I’ll take that win anyday!

I really have to stop being so damn mean to myself!

A bishhh did that! By 11/23/17 I had already lost 166lbs, so a girl was feeling herself. Let’s fast forward almost 6 years later I’m down another 127lbs.

I’m NOT at my goal weight but I’ll take me now any day! ❤️🫶🏼

Carry on … I just wanted to share anything is possible.

I’m not faking the funk - I’m still learning to accept and love me now. I have my days but I do love me everyday!

First this didn’t happen in a year - it’s been YEARS and tons of hard work/discipline.

This weightloss journey isn’t something that suddenly stops … it’s forever for me. It’s a relationship I’m still learning. It has many twists & turns and many hidden pockets.

I may have lost almost 300lbs but I still have the aftermath of all abuse I put my body through.

I have days where I get mad or plainly in my feelings because my body doesn’t look like I want it to but … I also know some of that can only be corrected with surgery.

It’s crazy to see where I was and where I am. I know it’s not where I’ll stay. 🙏🏼☺️

Okay, I’ll admit it… I’m not the best at posting on IG (stories are definitely my comfort zone 😅). But this moment? It deserves a proper post. Two weeks ago, I shared that I’m the on-field emcee for the Ontario Tower Buzzers (!!! 🐝💙).

Last week, I gave you a few sneak peeks from the ballpark… and honestly, I’m still so humbled by it all.

When Allan first brought this to me, I thought he was joking. Like… fully thought this was a prank 😂 Turns out… it wasn’t. He really went to the ESPN LA fam and said, “I want her to be my emcee.”

Y’all… I was SHOOK.

Little ol’ me getting the opportunity to do something I’ve always dreamed of AND with a Dodgers affiliate team?! 🥹 After talking with Allan, Rory, Kyrstin, and Adam, I just knew this was the perfect fit.

And if you know me, you know how much representation means to me. Allan is big on that too, so being part of this team felt even more special. Even with my ESPN LA schedule, I couldn’t commit to the full week but I said, I can’t give you Tuesday thru Sunday… but weekends? I’m ALL IN.

Allan, thank you for believing in me. Opening weekend was incredible, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. Let’s make this inaugural season unforgettable 💙🐝
