Proud to see our very own Jason Martucci representing kasper architects as part of the UNF College of Arts and Sciences Seaside Sculpture Selection Committee!

The UNF Seaside Sculpture Park at Jacksonville Beach is a fantastic initiative - featuring rotating, large-scale public art installations that bring unique themes to life, from celebrating Florida’s coastal culture to honoring military service and redefining classical art forms.

What makes this project so special is the hands-on opportunity it provides for undergraduate students. Through a competitive process, students pitch their concepts to a committee, earn scholarships to fabricate their work, and see their designs transformed into permanent outdoor public art pieces. Empowering the next generation of creators and bringing a "museum without walls" experience to our community is something kasper architects is so proud to support!

Special thanks to @unfcoas, Jenny Hager, Lance Vickery, and Aisling McDonald. by @unfcoas

🧪♻️🔬 Reagan Elia spent her summer helping solve a problem that shows up every time someone tosses a plastic bottle in the recycling bin.

The University of North Florida chemistry student interned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where she blended recycled plastics at different concentrations to help make them less brittle. Her samples are now headed to roughly 15 universities worldwide, and could become reference materials for recycling companies.

Elia said the experience gave her a window into what a career in a government lab looks like, and she’s now applying to 13 doctoral programs in polymer chemistry.

“Don’t be scared to reach out,” Elia said.

🔬 Are you looking for more research opportunities like Reagan’s? Her path began with one cold email to a professor. Join the OUR at our Research Internship Fair, October 21st at 10! taken in University of North Florida by @unfcoas
