Hi, it's been a while.

As I turn 38 this Monday, July 20, I just wanted to share a few realizations that life has taught me.

• Not every argument needs your participation. Seriously, sometimes you just gotta let shit go.

• Work is just work. You can be an amazing manager and lead your team perfectly, but you still have to prioritize your own peace at the end of the day.

• Quality > quantity when it comes to people. A tiny, solid circle is really all you need.

• Saying "no" without explaining yourself is a goddamn superpower. Trust me.

• Drink more water and stretch. Your lower back will literally thank you.

• You can't fix everyone, especially those who don't want to be fixed. Even the deepest empathy has to have limits.

• Quiet time is wildly underrated. Sometimes just sitting in your own company with a good song playing in the background is the best part of the week.

• Wear nice clothes. Don't save the good fabrics for a "special occasion" that might never happen. Just look good for yourself on a Wednesday.

• People are gonna judge you regardless, so you might as well just live your absolute truth and do what makes you happy.

• Sometimes the strongest reaction is no reaction at all. Silence is loud.

• Relationships can be messy. It’s okay to draw boundaries to protect your energy, even with family. by @unfilteredferds

Look what I found. A shot from my nephew's graduation 30 years ago. Even at seven years old, I was already the one stepping up to take on that responsibility on stage. And I honestly loved doing it.

It makes perfect sense when I look at it now. Showing up for my family is just who I am. Three decades later, whether it is for my siblings or the kids in our lives, I am still doing the exact same thing. Over and over again. And I wouldn't have it any other way. #fyp #love by @unfilteredferds
