✨Summer Solstice, 2026, 16x20”, Acrylic on canvas✨
I’ve been experimenting with texture lately and I’m loving it. Anything to draw the eye into the painting. Might make a larger version of this. But anyway. As summer comes to an end, painting this piece was a reminder for me to rise from my shadows and negativity and into a light of love and gratitude… taken in Mad Dog Artist Studios by @unfrgretable

Fixing up some colors I messed up on. It’s been a slightly grueling process learning the details of working with acrylic, especially with new pigments I’m trying out. What I thought was the prettiest purple actually is what painters use to substitute for black sometimes, so a little went a long way and ended up with colors took dark too soon into the painting. taken in Pawtucket, Rhode Island by @unfrgretable

No matter how much you feel in the depths of darkness, there’s always a light to look towards. Practice gratitude, climb out of the pit, choose to see the light, your light.
