UPDATE ON HOSTEL BOOKING AND ALLOCATION

The Students’ Union Government understands students’ concerns regarding hostel booking and the delay in announcing the official modalities. We assure everyone that the SUG is actively engaging with University Management to ensure a fair and transparent process.

While manual booking was considered to address racketeering and the illegal sale of hostel spaces, it may disadvantage students coming from distant locations and other states. Therefore, the SUG is pushing for a hybrid booking system to give every student a fair opportunity to secure accommodation.

We urge all students to remain calm and disregard unverified information circulating on social media, blogs, WhatsApp groups, or other platforms. The official booking process and commencement date will be communicated through the appropriate channels today or tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience and Understanding.

Signed:
Students’ Union Government.

HOSTEL INSPECTION UPDATE: DOCUMENTING THE CHALLENGES, ENGAGING MANAGEMENT, AND WORKING TOWARDS BETTER HOSTEL CONDITIONS

As part of this commitment, the Union conducted hostel inspection tours to assess the condition of facilities, identify areas requiring urgent attention, and document issues affecting students’ comfort, safety, and overall welfare.

During these inspections, several observations were recorded and carefully documented through photographs and video evidence. These records capture the conditions observed during the tours and highlight areas where repairs, maintenance, and necessary improvements are required.

🔴 UNIABUJA SUG UPDATES STUDENTS ON SCHOOL FEES, HOSTEL BOOKING & MAINTENANCE

The Students’ Union Government (SUG), University of Abuja, has provided updates following its meeting with key University Management stakeholders.

📌 PORTAL MIGRATION: The process is nearing completion. Applicable school fees for different academic levels will reflect on the portal once completed.

💳 SCHOOL FEES: Payment will commence after the successful completion of portal migration. Students are advised to await official confirmation.

🏠 HOSTEL BOOKING: Booking is expected to commence in due course. Official dates and procedures will be announced through recognised channels.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Expressing interest or making informal arrangements does not constitute a confirmed hostel booking. Avoid transferring money to individuals or unauthorised platforms claiming to facilitate hostel allocation.

🧹 HOSTEL MAINTENANCE: Cleaning, maintenance and fumigation are ongoing at both the Permanent Site and Mini Campus to prepare facilities for resumption.

The SUG urges students to remain patient, disregard unverified information and rely only on official announcements from the Union and University Management.

Stay informed. Stay vigilant. Trust only verified information. 💚

If Lagos has Lagos Life, then who said UNIABUJA cannot have its own? 👀

Imagine living your UNIABUJA life… but this time, you’re the one controlling the wahala. 😂
Attend lectures… or don’t. 😭
Make friends.
Catch cruise.
Find love. 👀
Build your virtual campus life.
And of course… manage your money before school fees and hostel wahala manage you. 😂💀

Because in real life, you’re already struggling with ₦200 transport. Now you want to be a big boy in the game? 😭😂
