EXIST follows Palestinian skateboarder, @aramsabbah , in the weeks leading up to the Olympic qualifiers in Dubai. Leaving his war-torn homeland, Aram isn’t chasing medals, he’s carrying the mantle for Palestine with a drive to send a message – Palestine exists beyond media headlines and nameless statistics. Through skateboarding, Aram defines the forces that seek to silence and erase his people, offering instead resilience and a quiet resistance built on presence, passion and hope.

&

@skate_pal was founded in 2013 with the aim of developing a self-sustaining skateboarding scene in Palestine. Supplying skateboards & skate equipment, building skateparks. Providing a central space for the local skate community to use for workshops, film screenings, meetings, equipment storage etc. And including, Paying Palestinian skateboarders, providing training & mentorship while sharing resources.

This is the 4th to last screening for a bit so make sure to share with every friend of yours in NYC. Treat this event like a birthday party, or substitute it with your other movie plans. I’m promise I’m here to keep you entertained, but more importantly I’m here to fundraise for my people in Palestine. Let’s continue to fundraise for Palestinian Joy. The next generation of children in Palestine deserve to have fun and we can give them that by having some fun ourselves witnessing their joy.

I love you all. Godspeed.

Epicly Palestine’d

Filmed in 2015 primarily on phones, with zero budget, Epicly Palestine’d is a short documentary capturing the birth of Palestine’s skate scene. With no equipment, no facilities and no blueprint, a small group of teenagers make history by becoming Palestine’s first skateboarders. Despite the challenges of living under military occupation, they set out to build a community from scratch – planting the seeds for what, nearly a decade later, would lead to Palestine’s first Olympic skateboarder.

Available from TODAY! @printedmatter_artbookfairs LA edition

Hand to Hand is a new cassette tape edition by Aventures LTD press in collaboration with @unibrowsun and @gluefactoryradio , assembled by @sabri , Michelle Nazzal, & Andrew Miller . The project draws inspiration from histories of bootleg mixtapes exchanged by family and through travel across the Arab diaspora. It pays homage to the preciousness of music as a souvenir, a time capsule and an emotional bed, especially for people displaced or in exile.

This cassette arrives with news print poster and postcard housed in a hand stamped mailer. Edition of 300 with proceeds going to @thesameerproject

Massive thanks to @secret_riso_club for executing the master print of the design.

“...whenever someone returned from abroad, they carried suitcases filled with pieces of home. Cassette tapes and CDs were a big part of that home. They were quickly dubbed, recopied, and passed along, hand to hand, through a community hungry for connection. I remember my parents’ friends arriving with stacks of freshly recorded tapes, ready to share.
From those, my parents would build their own collections—mixtapes of favorites that would continue to circulate among family and friends. These exchanges shaped my earliest sense of home: not just a place, but a feeling carried through sound, scent, and memory.” - Sabri by @unibrowsun
