This is a book I wrote between the ages of 17 and 18. I began writing this book to my future child. At age 17, I firmly believed that I would one day be a mother. Here I am at age 32, pregnant, and on my journey to motherhood. Some of these are so clearly written by a 17 year old, but some of these are far too profound to be written by a teen. As I read these, part of me is baffled by my need to hear some of these words. Some entries make me laugh, oh you silly teen. 💘 I have over 30 full books and in my death my legacy will be my writing. My memoirs will be what I have to leave for my kid/s.

When I was 17, in 2011, I had a 1993 Toyota Camry. It had a moon roof and a tape player. My sister, Kacie and I would go thrifting. We would find tapes to play, lots of oldies. She found this book and said 'hey you need this'. Haha and without question, I bought it. I guess she was right. We had some of the most wholesome moments riding around in this car, singing oldies.

My first book was at age 16. I wrote it to my first love while he was being a dick and ghosting me. We always found our way back to one another. Years later, his sponsor overdosed and I chose to send him that diary, we were in our twenties by this point. Sadly, he passed away in 2024. Part of me wishes I never sent him the notebook, because now that he is dead, it would have meant so much to me to have it.

I don't know why I began writing this book to my child. I'm glad I did this though. I will be sharing it with you.
My birth name is Christina, and only the closest people in my life call my by this name, like my husband. My mother and my brother gave me the name 'Nellzy' when I was a child. Nellzy is not just some name I made up for myself. My mom spelled it 'Nelzie' and my brother spelled it 'Nellzee' - I've been called everything from Nellz, Nellzy Bellz, Nelber, it goes on 😂 - I cherish my given nickname and I will always prefer that people use that name when speaking to me. I really only allow my husband to call me Christina. 💖
