What can one say about a Collings coming in for a setup? Just walk it past the bench, it’s basically there. #collingsguitar #setup #guitarrepair #unionfrog #luthier by @unionfrog

Incredible late 30’s Kalamazoo KG-21 in for the full meal deal: neck reset/refret/bridge repair/crack + cleating/etc. This one took a moment but it turned out fabulous. Kalamazoo was a Gibson subsidiary in the Great Depression. These were paired down affordable working class guitars. They are well regarded at this point and deserve all the praise as the materials that they were built with are likely some of the finest wood by today’s standards.

Do yourself a favor and check out ‘Kalamazoo Gals’, a book about the Gibson banner years just post this depression era Kalamazoo period. It illustrates how much more effective women are in the workplace and how they completely changed the standard of excellence for the art of lutherie. #kalamazooguitar #neckreset #kalamazookg21 #guitarrepair #unionfrog by @unionfrog

Neck reset, refret, new nut, and a K&K pickup install on this beautiful red label FG-140. We have harsh winters here in the NE, and nothing deals with the dry cold better than laminate back and sides. These are the ultimate road guitars~ #yamahafg #guitarrepair #luthier #guitarshop #neckreset by @unionfrog

Some things to do on this contemporary Charvel. The bridge pickup was flipped when it arrived and was out of phase with the neck which solved the customer’s issue of it sounding a little thin. We also removed the tone pot pushed the volume pot back and added a kill switch. Mini switch is to drop a coil and go from humbucker to single coil. Setup, with a much needed nut slot adjustment. Ready for the stage. #unionfrog #charvel #guitarrepair #guitartech #hudsonvalleyguitarrepair #guitarsetup by @unionfrog

Good friend Will Stratton inspired me to find more Yamaha FG’s to do more R&D on. Bought this first year Taiwanese made all ply/mahogany neck FG110 for a neck reset/refret. With weather patterns becoming increasingly harsh, the ply bodies (that are still structurally sound) will see a longer shelf life. These lightly braced bodies sure pack a punch. #yamahafg110 #guitarrepair #unionfrog #neckreset #refret #hudsonvalleyguitarrepair by @unionfrog

Bridge reglue time! Keep an eye on the seam between the top and bridge if your action shifts suddenly. #guitarrepair #bridgereglue #epiphoneacoustic #guitarshop #hudsonvalleyguitarrepair #unionfrog by @unionfrog

Setup and new bridge on this 60’s es-335. Was going to opt for a Callaham but they stopped producing the abr-1 bridge, so we went with the Faber equivalent. Excellent sustain and durability. Certainly an upgrade from the stock nylon saddles. #gibson335 #vintagegibson #guitartech #guitarrepair #unionfrog #guitarshop #hudsonvalleyguitarrepair by @unionfrog
