Today, I had to take Mom to the ER. Both of her knees are swollen, making it difficult for her to walk, and she ended up falling. 💔

After 21 years of caregiving, you would think it gets easier. But the truth is, it doesn't.

From low vision to kidney issues, and now this… watching someone you love face one health challenge after another is never easy.

Caregiving isn't just caring for someone. It's giving a piece of yourself every single day. It's carrying worries that people don't see, putting someone else's needs before your own, and finding the strength to keep going even when your own cup feels empty.

Some days, all I have left is prayer.

So I keep asking God to refill my cup as I continue pouring into others. To give me strength when I'm tired, peace when I'm worried, and grace for the days I feel like I have nothing left to give.

Because caregivers need care, too. ❤️

To every caregiver quietly carrying so much while trying to be strong for everyone else, I see you. You are not alone.

Sickle Cell Education Day 💛

On September 26, we spent the day at Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital in Atlanta learning, listening, connecting, and advocating for the sickle cell community.

From insightful discussion panels to conversations with different organizations and companies, the day brought together families, advocates, healthcare professionals, and community resources—all with the shared goal of increasing awareness, education, and support for those living with sickle cell.

As a sickle cell mom, days like this remind me how important it is to stay informed, ask questions, connect with others, and know that we don’t have to navigate this journey alone. 🩸❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible and to those continuing to educate, advocate, and support sickle cell families.

We attended the Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research Convention, and it was an experience I won't forget. ❤️
Being surrounded by other sickle cell warriors, families, advocates, and medical professionals reminded us that we are not alone on this journey. We learned so much about sickle cell disease, treatment options, advocacy, and the importance of building a strong support system.
As a mom, my goal is to gather as much knowledge as possible so I can better support my son, Prince, and prepare him to advocate for himself as he grows older. Seeing adults living with sickle cell, sharing their stories, challenges, and victories gave me hope and valuable insight into what lies ahead.
Most importantly, we felt seen. We felt heard. And we left empowered.
Every conversation, every workshop, and every connection reinforced why awareness, education, and advocacy matter so much.
For families walking this path: keep learning, keep asking questions, and keep advocating. Our warriors deserve it. 🩸💪🏾

Some days I’m a daughter.
Some days I’m a mother.
Every day I’m a caregiver… to both.

Taking care of my mom
while walking alongside my son through sickle cell
is a weight I carry quietly.

People see me smiling…
but they don’t see the nights I don’t sleep,
the hospital runs,
or the fear I hide.

I’m tired… but I’m still standing. 💪🏾

Today was one of those long, full, emotional days — the kind that reminds me why I do what I do.
We spent the day at @childrensatl atl for my son’s appointment, and it was such a pleasant experience.

Sitting with his doctors, talking through how he’s doing, hearing progress, asking questions… it gave me peace. As a mom of a child with sickle cell, those conversations matter more than people realize.
But what really touched my heart was connecting with others in the sickle cell community, especially receiving a lovely call from the CEO/Founder of @mythreesicklers

There’s something powerful about being in a room where people understand — no long explanations needed. Just shared strength, shared stories, shared hope.
It was eventful. It was full. It was satisfying in the most meaningful way.
And even though I’m tired, my heart is grateful.
To every caregiver walking this road — you are seen.
To every sickle cell warrior — you are stronger than you know. 💪🏽
