ESCAP’s journey mirrors that of the Asia-Pacific region itself.

Established in 1947 in Shanghai, relocated to Bangkok in 1949, and based in its current headquarters since the 1970s, the organization has evolved alongside a region undergoing profound transformation.

Today, as new challenges emerge, the role of regional cooperation remains as critical as ever.

How can we build societies where everyone can thrive? 🌏

From 11–13 November, ministers and senior decision-makers from across #AsiaPacific will come together at the ninth session of the Committee on Social Development.

Together, countries will look at how we can:

🔹 Accelerate progress towards ending poverty
🔹 Strengthen social protection and build resilience
🔹 Support active and healthy ageing through data and regional cooperation
🔹 Build towards a future of care where everyone can provide and receive care with dignity

Building inclusive societies means ensuring that people have the support, opportunities and care they need to thrive at every stage of life.

🔹 Protect marine ecosystems and improve ocean management.
🔹 Use science and innovation to guide ocean and climate action.
