@byucougars showed up big for Utah County today.💙

BYU Athletics staff and student-athletes hit the community in two ways:

🌱 Weeding, planting, and prepping a shed for a future mural at the Community Action community garden in Provo—including BYU football’s own @tigerbachmeier, sleeves rolled up and hands in the dirt right alongside everyone else!

🫟 Painting playground games at Meadow Brook Elementary in Springville, where kids could NOT contain their excitement. “BYU! BYU!” the whole recess. The students clearly consider the Cougars part of their team.

Grateful for partners like @communityactionuc and Meadow Brook Elementary, and for BYU Athletics staff and student-athletes who understand that being a Cougar means showing up off the field too.

It’s been one week since our community came together to serve across Utah County on Day of Caring, and the impact is still sinking in. Over 2,000 volunteers from more than 50 companies rolled up their sleeves to complete 90 projects throughout our entire county. That kind of turnout is nothing short of incredible. Thank you to everyone who showed up and reminded us that our community cares. ❤️

To everyone who helped coordinate and plan these service projects, you are the real MVPs. Thank you for making this happen!

And a special thanks to all of the volunteer photographers that captured these awesome moments! by @unitedwayuc

At UCCU, community is at the heart of everything we do. We love participating in the United Way Day of Sharing and finding meaningful ways to give back to our local schools and neighborhoods. This year, we headed into local classrooms to connect with students, read stories, and help with engaging learning activities. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with United Way and lift up the community we all share. by @unitedwayuc

We don’t just talk. We do it.

This year’s Day of Caring brought volunteers together to prep garden plots for local families to grow their own fresh produce - weeding, planting, and getting our hands dirty for a good cause.

Thank you to @unitedwayuc for organizing another great one, and to Community Action Gardens for hosting us. by @unitedwayuc

Nu Skin corporate employees stepped up to be a force for good! 🙌💛⁣
⁣
Every September, United Way of Utah County organizes a day of service projects called Day of Caring. Several Nu Skin volunteers came together to clean up the South Franklin Community Center, which offers classes, resources and connection to families in need. The volunteers pulled weeds, cleaned windows, laid wood chips and power washed walls to make the community center even more welcoming. by @unitedwayuc

For 33 years, the United Way of Utah County Day of Caring has been bringing together volunteers to make the world a better place. I’ve been lucky enough to participate in at least 20 of these events, which consists of an early morning breakfast ceremony and then service projects throughout the valley.

The “pancake-flippers” at the community breakfast include university presidents, mayors, superintendents, hospital administrators and CEOs. I love the competition of who can make the best Mickey-eared or UVU-shaped pancakes. Nothing brings people together like griddles and spatulas at 7 a.m.

My group’s service project today was at Tabitha’s Way in Pleasant Grove, which services 700+ families each week who experience food insecurity. My Colliers colleagues and I organized fresh produce and non-perishables to prepare for the clients who arrive to “shop” at this food pantry.

It is humbling to play a teensy part of the good works that happen in our community EVERY SINGLE DAY. Tabitha’s Way is always looking for donations of food and money, and they have a robust volunteer program. It’s an incredibly efficient system that can feed people for about 20 cents per meal! Did you know that 1 in 6 children in Northern Utah County have one meal or less per day? Children shouldn’t go hungry, and the mission of Tabitha’s Way is to make sure they don’t.

I love that the United Way finds ways to bring together non-profits, volunteers and corporations to collectively address the needs in our community. My term as board chair of United Way of Utah County has ended, but I’m still on the executive board and I was lucky enough to help give out these awards today:

Campaign Leader of the Year: Duncan Aviation
Campaign Of the Year: Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine and Norman Wright, Ph.D
Corporate Partner of the year: Central Bank
Volunteer of the Year: Karen Bartholomew

Thank you Bill Hulterstrom for your 43 years of service as CEO of United Way of Utah County. And thank you to our board chair Devin Baer. You’re helping thousands of people know how to make the world a better place. @unitedwayuc @tabithasway_north @colliers_utah by @unitedwayuc

Serving others is at the heart of what we do. 💙

Today, RMU faculty and staff volunteered during United Way of Utah County’s Day of Caring to support our community and make a meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
From lending a helping hand to supporting local organizations, every act of service makes a difference.

We’re proud of our RMU community for showing up, serving others, and making an impact beyond campus.

Today was the @unitedwayuc Day of Caring. It is a countywide effort that mobilizes volunteers from local businesses to support libraries, schools and other community programs.

It's a great opportunity for companies and individuals to give back to the community, County Commissioners Beltran and Powers Gardner served breakfast to the volunteers this morning. After breakfast the volunteers went out and to do different service projects

Utah County had quite a few employees serve today.

The biggest service day of the year is in ONE WEEK!🎉

Painting playgrounds is just one of the projects happening next week. Different tasks, same reason people show up: connection, and doing something nice for someone else.

We’ll see you next Thursday!

Huge thank you to @noordacom first year students that helped paint Taylor Elementary’s playground earlier this summer! by @unitedwayuc
