This Saturday night Unity Underground meets @loopprogressionleeds to celebrate the release of the Echoes of the Past EP 🤩

Label head honcho, @pixljs has been a household name in the Leeds jungle scene for some time now, with 15 years of production experience and numerous releases under his belt on labels like AKO and OverShadow. In 2024 he began the Loop Progression label with the aim of pushing beats by West Yorkshire jungle/drum & bass artists including Galvatron, Duburban, Peeb and himself with guest appearances from further afield.

You can catch Pixl playing on the night along with Champa B, Galvatron, RACH and Chuga.

The night kicks off at 11pm in the basement at Sidney & Matilda as part of the Tramlines Fringe celebrations and best of all — it’s completely FREE so come on down and join us in the dance!

Expect a night of deep and atmospheric drumfunk, jungle and drum & bass 🔊💃🕺

Less that 2 weeks to go until Leeds based label Loop Progression join’s Unity Underground for a takeover in the basement @sidneyandmatilda as part of the Tramlines Fringe celebrations 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Loop Progression, managed by Laurie Smart aka Pixl, pushes deep and atmospheric drumfunk, jungle and drum & bass. The label focuses on releasing music from other West Yorkshire based producers, namely Peeb, Galvatron and Duburban with collaborations and remixes from other artists from further afield.

First up on our artist spotlight is Galvatron 🤩

Galvatron is a Jungle DJ/producer and multi-genre streamer from West Yorkshire, with around 30 years experience behind the decks. From vinyl roots to modern digital sets, his style blends Jungle with everything from Hip Hop to Hardcore. With recent releases on Over/Shadow & Loop Progression, and sets played across the UK and beyond, he brings passion, versatility, and serious energy to every performance.

Hi all

We have a special guest mix from Sheffield based Unity Underground co-founder King Chuga ! I have known King Chuga for around 10 years now, from when I first listened to his earlier mixes on Soundcloud with particular mention going to his legendary `Minchery Farm mix that he did back then - I have since found Minchery Farm was a club he used to frequent back in the day and was playing tunes from what he heard there over the years.

Fast forward a few years and King Chuga setup Unity Underground with his partner RACH, and they have been going from strength to strength the last few years putting on events mainly in Sheffield, but also playing at Planet Wax too. I personally feel jungle and drum and bass has risen the last few years here in Sheffield thanks to them, which has helped inspire projects like Amen Audio to ride the crest of the jungle wave too here in Sheffield.

I love this mix and love the obscure tracklist too, there is a lot of tunes ive just never heard before on this mix !

What a wicked night it was!! Amazing venue with the almighty @sinaisound and @impulsesoundsystem 🔊 Big love to all the artists that along to do their thing, you were all incredible!

Out to all the crew at Dryad too for making the night such a success. Sound crew and everyone just made it perfect ❤️ And BIG BIG love to all the ravers that joined us!! Wicked vibes all night long!!

Honestly, we could see the air rippling in the main room, the tunes had a whole new sound to them!! 🔊💥🔊💥🔊💥

Yes people! Couple of exciting things to talk about….

I’m back in Sheffield tonight playing for @unity_underground_sheffield so very much looking forward to that! Big up Rach and Chuga every time, great event. @functionrecordsuk crew repping to the max.

As well as this, the Rollin Deep EP by myself @stevedigital and @charlagreenuk (who are also playing tonight 😁) is out today on the Function bandcamp on vinyl and digital formats. Will be available everywhere else and streaming services next Friday. Very excited to have this one out in the world! ❤️
