For Texas State voters, they don’t need to travel far. The LBJ Student Center is designated as an Early Voting and Election Day polling place, with polling times available on the Texas State Student Involvement website.

Voters can check their registration status at Vote.org, and Student Involvement advises voters to make a voting plan, fill out a sample ballot, know the issues, and know what a voting machine looks like and how it works.

Hays County sample ballots are available online on the Hays County website.

Democracy starts at the ballot box, and young voters can and will make a difference.

Filed in September, the Cornell Seven case is an ongoing criminal investigation involving a former Cornell University student who alleges that seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity drugged and gang-raped her in October 2024. On September 16, 2026, she filed a 101-page civil lawsuit against the seven men, Cornell University, and others allegedly involved in the assault.

Trapp said she has a petition online that demands Title IX transparency, institutional accountability, and implementation of evidence-based sexual violence prevention interventions.

At Texas State, students can report sex-based discrimination or sexual assault to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX or at Elliot Hall on the third floor.

While the individual entered the residential space through a propped door, Carmichael said it is important to close the door after entering a residential building to avoid tailgating, when nonresidents bypass ID scanners by following closely behind a resident.

Although nothing was stolen, Carmichael said investigators are treating the incident as burglary because the individual entered the victim’s residential space without permission and had the intent to commit a crime.

Indecent assault is usually a form of unwanted sexual touching, Carmichael said. It is defined by the Texas Penal Code as an offense without the other person’s consent, with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person by touching the genitals of another person, touching another person with their own genital, exposing another person’s genitals or causing another person to contact bodily fluids.

Carmichael said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call UPD at 512-245-2805.

This is a developing story. The University Star will provide updates as more information becomes available.

There was about a 31% decrease in rape from 2023 to 2025, with 20 reported in 2025, 29 in 2024 and 2023. 18 of the 20 rapes reported in 2025 occurred in a residential facility.

In a post-game press conference, head coach Gary Joe Kinne III addressed the mistakes that contributed to the Bobcats’ second-half collapse.

“Really upset by the way we came out and played that third quarter … It was really one quarter that really cost us,” Kinne said. “We looked at the stats [and it’s] pretty lopsided … we just couldn’t capitalize.”

Fans have been looking to point fingers for quite some time, but as investment in Texas State Athletics grows, the program’s profile rises and its offense continues to shine, those fingers may need to start pointing toward the coaching staff.

Other Pac-12 programs are already responding when repeated mistakes become impossible to ignore. On Saturday, Colorado State stripped defensive coordinator Tyson Summers of play-calling duties during its loss to Oregon State before parting ways with him after the game.

Athletics are important to a university; they bring in donations, name recognition and recruitment, but when programs falter, the effects hurt fan engagement, fundraising and the university’s broader reputation. At a time of rapid growth for Texas State, its football program can’t afford to keep making the same mistakes.
