POSTS STORIES REELS

People always ask : “How did the event go?”

Honestly…these photos say more than I ever could.

The laughter.
The animated conversations.
The moments where you’re completely immersed in something that matters, and you genuinely love.

We talked about connection, but what I’ll remember most is watching it unfold in the room itself—through laughter, vulnerability, shared experiences, and those moments when you realize you’re not alone.

Some experiences can’t be explained.
They can only be felt.

Thank you, @lennmeventphotography for capturing exactly that. ❤️

So much gratitude to @we.thecrew for putting on a great event, and their community for showing up.

… and of course @drkanikak for the incredible insights and conversation as always!

….and @teddyintroubleofficial for inspiring it all. by @unpackingmyself

In a world that moves so fast—filled with endless scrolling, notifications, and distractions—events like this remind us that nothing can truly replace genuine, in-person connection.

There is something so special about bringing a room full of inspiring, positive women together. The energy, the conversations, the encouragement, and the sense of community are impossible to recreate online.

Women are the heart of so much. We lead our families, build businesses, strengthen our workplaces, and lift each other up every single day. Spending a few hours together this morning was such a beautiful reminder of the power of showing up, connecting, and supporting one another.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so meaningful. It was truly one of those mornings we’ll be thinking about for a long time 🤍

We hosted our very first event for parents this weekend — and it sparked some really thoughtful, honest conversation. 💬
We spent time reflecting on a simple but layered question:
How do we cultivate empathy in our children, and why is it so important that we do?
✨ @teddyintroubleofficial founder @drkanikak shared the research on why it’s important to build empathy in our children and gave parents practical tips for how to model both emotional and cognitive empathy, which in turn helps children build those skills themselves.
✨ @payalforstyle grounded the conversation in real life, and shared how she intentionally builds an environment that encourages empathy and allows her boys to show up as their full selves, with every feeling accepted and individuality celebrated.
The conversation was beautifully guided by Neha Patel of the @unpackingmyself whose moderation created space for nuance and honesty. We wrapped with a thoughtful Q&A facilitated by @rkj5014 , SAAFC co-founder and @desidoubtspod co-host.
What stood out most was how much parents appreciated having room to talk, reflect, and learn from one another.
This event is part of the work we care deeply about:
💛 supporting emotional well-being in South Asian families
💛 creating space for conversations that don’t always happen elsewhere
💛 building healthier patterns — together, and over time

Thank you to everyone who was a part of our Cultivating Empathy in Our Children Event in Philly last weekend. Here’s to many many more of these rooms in 2026.

EPISODE 203: FOLLOWING THE CROWD

Do you have control of your reality, or are you following theirs?

It has never been more important than now to be in touch with your inner self and knowing so that your reality is an expression of you and not those around you.

How do you do this when we are constantly being bombarded with opinions, reels, tiktoks, marketing to make us follow the crowd?

In this episode, I dive into my observations and realizations around this topic and what happens when we follow the crowds versus our inner voice.

This episode will invite you to reflect on how much of your reality is influenced by the crowd versus YOU.

Let’s unpack together! Sometimes all you need is a nudge and someone to ask the questions so you can find the answers for you. Send me a DM or check out my website: www.unpackingmyself.com by @unpackingmyself

This can be a “side effect” of unpacking yourself especially when you are vocal and open about it.

Don’t let it get to you and don’t ever stop unpacking because this is one of the greatest superpowers in life.

There is greater joy in walking through life with humility and your eyes wide open to who you are, than with your head in the sand. by @unpackingmyself

EPISODE 199: LIFE UPGRADE | How and why the universe pushes us beyond what’s working in our life even though it feels “good enough.”

In this episode, I unpack a lesson from my old boss who told me, “don’t get too comfortable with the status quo.”

At the time, I thought everything was great so why ‘fix what ain’t broken?’

I later realized he was pointing to something deeper: when we settle into “good enough,” we often miss out on the more life has for us.

I talk about how life nudges us and gives us opportunities to upgrade if we pause and notice the opportunity.

These moments can feel hard, uncomfortable and confusing like a reboot, but they’re actually invitations to grow, expand, and experience life in ways we never imagined if we stayed comfortable.

Check this episode out to see if you might have an upgrade opportunity right now in your life.

EPISODE 197: SEEING YOURSELF | The eyes show us the world, but only when we close them can we truly see ourselves.
Isn’t it ironic that we can see everything with our eyes—except ourselves.

In this episode, I reflect on why true self-connection requires us to go inward.

Meditation, stillness, and closing our eyes aren’t just practices—they’re the only way to truly see who we are beyond the noise and connect with ourselves.

We will travel all over to see the world but what a tragedy it would be to go our entire lives without seeing what matters most - ourselves.

EPISODE 196: TOUGH LOVE | Do your actions invite honesty or flattery within your circle?

A recent post by Adam Grant on one of the most underrated skills being able to receive tough love inspired this episode.

A majority of people struggle to receive constructive criticism from others.

In this episode I explore why that is and why we take it so personally.

On the surface most people say they don’t mind the unpleasant truths but I share a way to know whether that is actually true for you or not.

If you are committed to growing, improving then you can’t be surrounded by people who feed you comforting lies and your actions dictate whether people will tell you the hard truths or not.

EPISODE 195: WHAT GROUNDS YOU | Why having something to ground us matters now more than ever.

Have you ever thought about what grounds you in life?

Something constant, steady, a strong foundation that brings you back no matter what is happening around you or to you?

In this episode, I talk about the many things past generations had but how we are moving away from a lot of them.

Life changes with each generation but the need for something that grounds us is something we all still need.

I share the deeper significance behind all this and why it matters so much.

I will also leave you with a question to help you find what that could be for you.
