@toyota upcoming Celica revival could be much more than a retro-inspired comeback. Early reports point to a turbocharged hybrid powertrain, around 400 HP, and all-wheel drive, giving the coupe serious performance credentials. At the heart of the project is expected to be a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder combined with some form of electrification. If Toyota reaches the rumored 400-HP figure, the new Celica would have a significant power advantage over the 300-HP GR Corolla. AWD would also reconnect the nameplate with its rally-bred heritage, bringing back the spirit of legendary GT-Four and All-Trac models that made the Celica famous in motorsport. Toyota’s new 2.0L turbo engine platform is particularly promising, with the company already indicating that outputs close to 400 HP could be possible in production cars. Unlike the GR86 and Supra, which were developed with Subaru and BMW, the new Celica could be developed more independently within Toyota’s own performance lineup. Rumors currently suggest a starting price around $45,000, positioning it above the GR86 while leaving room for higher-performance variants. The 2027 @honda Civic Type R is here, and at first glance you might struggle to spot what Honda actually changed. That’s because this isn’t a full redesign it’s a carefully targeted mid-cycle refresh focused on cooling, aero, chassis response and everyday usability. 👀 Up front is where the biggest visual change happens. Honda redesigned the front fascia with a larger grille opening and a deeper front splitter. According to Honda, reducing airflow turbulence helps move more air through the front of the car, improving engine cooling during demanding driving, while the deeper splitter generates additional downforce. The result is a front end that looks only slightly different, but has a genuine functional purpose. Underneath, Honda has also made several changes aimed at sharpening the Type R’s responses. Suspension damping in +R Mode has been optimized to improve road-following performance, reduce bouncing and soften harsh impacts while cornering. The Rev Match system now reacts faster during downshifts, while a new yoke spring in the brake-pedal mechanism reduces play, giving the pedal a more immediate and direct feel. The drivetrain itself remains familiar. The Type R continues with its 2.0-liter turbocharged K20C four-cylinder producing 315 hp, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. So rather than chasing a bigger horsepower figure, Honda has concentrated on refining the way the car communicates with the driver. There are more upgrades inside, too. For 2027, the red front sport seats are heated for the first time, while the dashboard and upper door panels gain Ultrasuede trim. Honda also added darker interior detailing, two USB-C ports, Google built-in with Google Maps, Google Play and Gemini, Alexa built-in and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A new Meteorite Gray Metallic finish also joins the exterior color lineup. And then there’s the price. The refreshed 2027 Civic Type R carries an official U.S. MSRP of $48,695.
