This isn’t just someone pushing a giant rock for fun.

The crew is carrying out controlled rock scaling in Norway, where loose or unstable rock is deliberately removed before it can fall unexpectedly onto a road below.

The area is closed during the operation, and machinery is kept nearby to clear the debris afterward. Removing dangerous rock this way helps prevent future rockfalls and keeps both drivers and workers safer.

He Knew This Was Unstable…

Aid climbing can get dangerous fast. While climbing Virginia on El Capitan, Max Rausch placed a hook on a small section of rock that suddenly broke away. He dropped around 20 feet before a rivet near the belay caught his fall. The hook even struck him in the mouth on the way down.

Despite the impact, his teeth were fine and he was able to continue the route and reach the summit on day four.

Nobody Was Supposed To Find Him

Tree wells are one of the most dangerous hazards in backcountry snow sports, hidden pockets of loose powder that form around the base of trees and can trap a rider head first in seconds. Victims can suffocate within minutes in what experts call snow immersion suffocation, often without anyone nearby even realizing something is wrong. In this case, a skier passing by noticed something out of place in the snow and stopped to check.

What he found was a rider buried upside down with no way to call for help. He dug by hand to clear an airway before finishing the job with a shovel. This is exactly why backcountry riders are told never to ride alone and to always keep a partner in sight.

He Was Trapped Under The Ice

Ice diving is considered one of the most dangerous forms of diving in the world because the ice sheet above removes any direct path to the surface. Divers rely entirely on a guide rope to find their way back to the entry hole, and losing contact with it even briefly can turn a routine dive into a life or death search in seconds.

Grandma Had An Unexpected Visitor Today

Kody Kosloski jumped from a building in Acapulco, Mexico when his parachute opened incorrectly and sent him crashing into the side of a high rise apartment complex. He became stuck against the wall with no way down. A woman living in the building reached out, grabbed his hand, and pulled him safely onto her balcony.
