Let’s talk about it: 📚 TUCSON FESTIVAL OF BOOKS 📚 This past weekend I was able to attend the @tucsonfestivalofbooks and oh boy, will I be back next year. I did not take many photos but managed a couple 😂 I was too busy scoping out new local authors and reads! I (finally) got to see & chat with Rachel in person and yes, she is THAT queen 💜 I did get to attend a panel dubbed “Inherited Nightmares” with authors @rachelharrisonsghost @authorchristinahenry & @llmadridwrites and needless to say it was fantastic! I also got to meet @tom_deady editor of The Rack anthology 1 & 2! Thank you Tom for chatting with me a bit! Let’s talk about it: INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY - PLEASE READ CAPTION If you know me, you already know how I feel. Today, I’m just tired. So tired. What I will say is that I urge you to read diversely. Read Indigenous stories. Cultivate some damn empathy. LEARN. And if you “can’t relate”, I don’t know what to tell ya. Cultural aspects in books shouldn’t “take you out of the story”. The book is out TODAY from @tornightfire … To say this book hit me right where it hurts is an understatement. I have never felt more seen. Thank you Cass for writing this story. A small snippet of my review: “Khaw’s writing is lyrical and devastating without becoming overly ornate. Images arrive sharp and strange, often carrying more emotional weight than an entire paragraph of exposition could accomplish. There is a touch of dreamlike quality to this novella, but the beating heart at its core remains at the forefront. Even with a tale dealing with psychopomps, ghosts, family curses, and mythology surrounding death, Antigone’s pain feels palpably real.” by @unstable.books

Let’s talk about it: 💎 WRITING UPDATE ICYMI 💎 I finally got enough courage to write and submit my second short story to @nightterrormag Haunted Holidays short story competition! And mine, La Calle De La Joya, was one of three winners 🥰 it is my own interpretation of a Mexican legend. Thank you @kelssweetie & @devotedmarrow who work so very hard on this magazine.
