This specific clip features a powerful moment from The Joe Rogan Experience where Joe sits down with North Korean defector Yeonmi Park. During their conversation, Joe reflects on a profound piece of advice shared by Jordan Peterson: the idea that you must become a "monster" and then learn how to control it. It’s a stirring look at the necessity of strength, the burden of responsibility, and the discipline required to be a virtuous person in a difficult world.

Born Joseph James Rogan on August 11, 1967, in Newark, New Jersey, Joe Rogan has had one of the most unpredictable careers in media. He began as a stand-up comedian in the late 80s, but gained national fame as the handyman Joe Garrelli on the sitcom NewsRadio and later as the fearless host of the reality hit Fear Factor.

While many knew him as a TV personality or the voice of the UFC, Rogan’s true legacy began in 2009 in a small room with a few microphones. The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) started as a casual hobby and evolved into the most influential podcast in the world. By 2026, the show remains a cultural juggernaut, credited with saving the "long-form conversation" in an era of 15 second soundbites.

Rogan’s appeal lies in his curiosity. He bridges the gap between elite fighters, world-class scientists, controversial philosophers, and A-list celebrities. His platform has become a "town square" where complex ideas. Like those of Jordan Peterson or the harrowing survival stories of Yeonmi Park—can be explored for three hours at a time.

A lifelong martial artist and black belt in both Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Rogan advocates for physical discipline as a prerequisite for mental clarity. His move to Austin, Texas, in 2020 signaled a shift in the media landscape, proving that a creator no longer needs Hollywood to reach a global audience.

Born Lee Jun-fan on November 27, 1940, in San Francisco, Lee was raised in Hong Kong. His father was a Cantonese opera star, which led to Bruce appearing in roughly 20 films as a child actor.

As a teenager, he began studying Wing Chun under the legendary master Yip Man to better defend himself during street fights. In 1958, he also won the Hong Kong cha-cha championship. Concerned by his street fighting, his parents sent him to the United States at age 18. He eventually studied philosophy and drama at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he met his wife, Linda Emery.

Philosophy: He famously advocated for being "like water"—fluid, adaptable, and formless.

Principles: His method emphasized directness, simplicity, and "scientific street fighting," discarding unnecessary movements.

His legacy remains immense:

He is credited with transforming the way Asians were portrayed in Western cinema.

He helped popularize martial arts globally, sparking a surge of interest in the 1970s.

He is often cited as a primary influence on modern mixed martial arts (MMA).

The cost of achieving greatness ⬆️

Born Louis Eugene Walcott on May 11, 1933, in the Bronx, New York, he was raised in Boston. Farrakhan was a talented violinist and a professional calypso singer known as "The Charmer." He toured the country in the early 1950s before joining the Nation of Islam in 1955 after hearing its leader, Elijah Muhammad, speak in Chicago.

Under the mentorship of Malcolm X, Farrakhan rose quickly through the ranks, serving as a minister in Boston and later replacing Malcolm X at the prominent Harlem Temple No. 7. After the Elijah Muhammad in 1975 and a subsequent split in the movement, Farrakhan re-established the original Nation of Islam in 1978, focusing on the principles of self-reliance and economic independence for the African American community.

Farrakhan is most widely recognized for organizing the Million Man March in 1995, which brought hundreds of thousands of Black men to Washington, D.C., to promote unity and family responsibility. Supporters praise his efforts to encourage discipline and self-determination.

The right time is now

In this message, Ye cuts through the hesitation and excuses: The time is now to be the greatest you. The world is designed to make you fit into a predictable, manageable box. It rewards compliance and punishes audacity. But true power belongs to those who drop the excuses, stop comparing themselves to the crowd, and execute with absolute conviction.

Control your mind. Build your discipline. Execute your purpose.

Stanford ran the same people through creativity tests sitting down, then walking.

What's on each slide:
→ The result: an average 60% lift in creative output
→ Why it is not the fresh air or the scenery
→ The one kind of thinking it actually boosts, and the kind it does not
→ How to use it the next time you go blank
→ The one-line recap worth saving

Sources: Oppezzo & Schwartz, Stanford University, "Give Your Ideas Some Legs: The Positive Effect of Walking on Creative Thinking", published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition, 2014. 176 participants. Also covered by the American Psychological Association.

Your phone doesn't need to buzz to cost you focus. It just needs to be in the room. The study is called Brain Drain, and almost nobody acts on it.

Swipe to see:
→ The experiment that proved it
→ Why off and face down changes nothing
→ The three "fixes" that don't actually work
→ The one placement that restores your focus
→ Why the more hooked you are, the harder it hits

Save this, then go move your phone.

Live a legendary life 🙏

The reason most people never achieve their vision is that they refuse to pay the "upfront cost." They want the glory without the friction. But life doesn't work that way. Every significant milestone in history—whether it’s a sports record, an artistic masterpiece, or a business empire—was built on a foundation of pain, repetition, and delayed gratification.
If you are currently in a season of struggle, recognize it for what it is: The investment phase. You are trading a moment of discomfort for a lifetime of leverage. Do not shrink from the work. Embrace the friction and stay locked in.
