Sexual violence has no place in Oregon FSL.
Prevention starts with education, accountability, and a community that looks out for one another. Oregon FSL works to prevent sexual violence and misconduct through:
• Education on consent, bystander intervention, risk management and member accountability • Leadership development and training through the Fraternal Leadership Academy and Emerging Leaders Retreat • Safety and Wellness Board (SWB) - A board dedicated to educating members about sexual violence, mental health, hazing, and drug and alcohol use; identifying and addressing specific community concerns; and working alongside the University of Oregon’s prevention efforts with guidance from university specialists • Clear reporting procedures and transparency around the organizational conduct process • Ongoing assessment of our community to better understand needs and develop impactful prevention programs • Partnerships with campus and national organizations that provide education, resources and support • A culture that encourages members to speak up, support one another and take action when something doesn’t feel right.
